Felix: Uh- mom, this is Changbin... he's my-

Mom: Oh, you're Changbin?! Felix's dad told me all about you! You're quite the charmer, aren't you? No boy has ever made Felix feel the way you have~

Gosh, I owe dad so much for this!

It would have been really awkward if I had to tell her I'm dating him.

Mom: You two talk, I'll go fresh up and fix something to eat.

She smiles and leaves the room, closing the door behind her.

Changbin: Wow, your parents are so much different from mine. I envy you...

Felix: Don't worry Binnie, just think of them as your parents, okay? I don't mind sharing.

Changbin: I would love to, but if I think of your parents as my parents, then you'd be my brother. It would be pretty weird to date my brother, so I'll have to turn down your offer.

I take a second to process what he just said and start giggling.

Felix: You're so funny! I didn't mean it like that, you know~

Changbin: I know, but I was trying to make you smile. I guess it worked.

I clear my throat and look away to hide my flushed face.

Changbin: Gosh baby, you get flustered so easily.

Felix: I-I'm not flustered, it's just... really hot in here...

Changbin: Whatever you say~

I lightly hit his arm when I see him smirking.

Felix: Stop smiling like that, it's weird!

Before he has a chance to reply, my mom opens the door and smiles at us.

Mom: I cut up some fruit for you guys, come to the living room.

I stand up and walk to the living room, Changbin trailing behind me.

We sit down on the couch and start eating.

Mom: So, Changbin... are you just visiting or...?

I notice the awkward tension in the room and step in.

Felix: Stuff came up at his house and he needed a play to stay. I offered to let him spend the night here. You don't mind, right mom?

Mom: Of course not, stay as long as you want. Just don't do any funny business behind my back, okay?

Her face expression clearly shows that she's just teasing us, but I know she actually means it too.

Changbin: Don't worry aunty, I'll take the couch for tonight since I'm intruding in your house.

Mom: No dear, you don't have to do that. You can sleep in Felix's room, just keep in mind what I said~

Felix: Mom! You're embarrassing me!

I try to whisper it to her, but Changbin hears it anyways and quietly chuckles.

Felix: I'm full. Binnie, are you done?

He nods and we stand up.

Felix: Mom, we'll be in my room. Call me if you need anything.

We walk to my room and sit down on my bed.

Changbin: Your mom is so chill.

Felix: Gosh, don't say that. There was this one time someone insulted me for being gay in front of her and she just blew up in anger. She was so scary.

Changbin: Really? I can't even imagine that. She seems too nice...

Mom: Boys, it's getting late! You should sleep!

I hear my mom yell from the living room.

I check the time and my eyes widen when I realize it is actually really late.

Felix: Okay mom!

Mom: You can talk tomorrow, alright?! Goodnight!

I say goodnight back and Changbin looks at me with a weird smile, and I smile back.

Mom doesn't know that we don't have to wait until tomorrow to talk.

We'll see each other right after we fall asleep anyway.
