PoV: SonicI noticed that Blue and Shads weren’t following us. They seemed to have started a conversation.
I sighed. I had to have a serious talk with Shadow, but I know that wasn’t going to go as I hoped for.
“Shadow.” I was going to confront him anyway. As I looked back to where Shadow was standing before, he had disappeared. I heard heavy footsteps on the stairs. Knowing he was going to the guest room, I went there as well.
“Shadow.” He was facing the window, away from me. “We need to talk.” I went to sit on the edge of the bed. “We can’t go on like this, fighting all the time. We need to work together if we want to get back to our own world.”
I got no reaction from him. I wondered if he was even listening to me.
“Shadow, are you listening?” I tilted my head. I saw him gripping his arm, his nails digging in his skin. “Shadow?” I got up and carefully went over to him. He had a red aura around him.
I know he was pissed but not this pissed.
He was going to explode with chaos energy any moment now. I acted fast. I tackled him, my arms wrapping around his midsection and pushed him out of the window, breaking the glass.
This world’s Sonic seemed to care more about his house and his cooking, so I wasn’t going to let Shadow destroy his house.
Before we even hit the ground, Shadow created a chaos blast which sent me flying off him. Shadow landed almost perfectly while I landed face first in the ground.
“Phew! Dust.” I spit out the little earth that had gotten into my mouth. “Woah!” I managed to dodge a chaos spear that was aimed for me.
“Alright Shadow, let’s fight.” I knelt down to my knees, ready to lung at him and attack him with a spindash.
Even though I just said that we shouldn’t fight.
His eyes were burning with fury. I knew this was going to be a hard fight. He was more powerful now and I was at a disadvantage of having a burned shoulder, which isn’t too much of a disadvantage.
I jumped and went for a homing attack. I couldn’t even get close to him or he created another chaos blast. I was quick to dodge a bunch of chaos spears.
I ran circles around him, making it hard for him to aim at me. And even if he did, his reaction time would be too slow to hit me. I managed to get him off his feet with a swift kick to the back of his knee.
“Alright Shadow, you done?” I asked, dusting myself off. “Argh!” I should have known he wasn’t done yet. He still had the red aura around him. “Get off!” I pushed Shadow’s head away. I pulled my legs in and kicked him off.
“Ow!” I should have been able to dodge that. Shadow had hit me with a chaos spear. There goes my fur, now burned.
“You know, you can be a real pain to fight against!” I couldn’t get close to him without being pushed back by a chaos blast. Every time it felt like a light shock went through me. Eventually my muscles would stiffen too much for me to be able to make swift movements.
PoV: Shads
"They're fighting again," Blue sighed, "I just bandaged him."
"They're gonna keep at it for a while, you know that," I gave him a subtle hug with my left arm and let go, "We should go inside and let them fight."
"Yeah… you're right. I'll get the first aid kit ready," Blue stretched, "Maybe some painkillers too."
"That sound's good. I still have your lunch to give you," I chaos controlled him inside in order to avoid the fighting. I gave my Sonic his share of food and kept an eye out for any incoming collateral damage.
