Absolute Chaos

PoV: 3rd Person

"I'm leaving." Shadow got up and was about to head out. He questioned why he hadn't done that sooner.

"Don't sweat it, Shadow. You won't even notice I'm here." Sonic said. He thought Shadow didn't want him around, which was partly it.

"You're not the worst problem here." Shadow said, snarling at the ebony hedgehog next to Sonic.

"What happened?" The blue hedgehog knew something else had happened while he hadn't been around. He was the worst problem. It was hard to believe there was something even worse.

"Out of my way." Shadow passed the two of them, and walked out of the door.

"Don't keep walking away from me." Sonic followed his rival. "You can talk to me, you know." He placed a hand on the other's shoulder.

Shadow tensed up from his touch. He snapped and smacked his hand away. "Don't touch me." He hissed venomously.

"What is up with you lately?" Sonic asked, visibly concerned about his rival. "What is wrong?"

"I don't want to be around that fucker." Shadow seemed to open up a little about the situation, unconsciously of course.

"Shadow?" Sonic questioned. He looked confused, not knowing what was so bad about him. "What's wrong with him? He doesn't seem bad to me."

Shadow stopped walking and turned to look at the blue hedgehog. "If you like him so much why don't you join them and make a trio?! I'm certain he would like that. He already has gotten his hands on you."

"What?" Sonic tilted his head. Before he could question it further, Shadow had activated his shoes and disappeared out of sight. Sonic would have gone after him but his ankle was hurting. He had moved too much on the ankle Shadow had previously injured.

Shaking his head, Sonic went back inside. He could ask Shads since this was going about him.

Has his hands on me? What does he even mean? He can't be vaguer, The blue hedgehog thought to himself. Is this Shadow actually an anti-hero and is trying to get me on his side? No, he's good. But then what has Shadow gotten like this?

"Are you alright? Are you sure?" Shads was currently on the phone in his room, the door cracked since a pen on the floor kept it from closing, "They're sending you home now? Alright. We'll go get you. I just need to keep these two from running off," Sonic walked upstairs, his ear flickered to the sound of Shads talking, "I see you soon... I love you too."

Eh? What?! What did I listen to?! In love? With who?! This world's Shadow is in love?! Is that... Is that why he's different? So then... is that what my Shadow is afraid of?

"Hey, you two-" Shads opened his door, finding Sonic outside, "We have to go."

"Uh.. okay.." Sonic had expected Shads to question why he was there.

"Blue should be out of the hospital by now. If not then we can at least visit," Shads started walking downstairs, "Shadow let's go- Where is he?"

"He left. I couldn't get him to stay." Sonic followed him.

"Stubborn brat. He can find his own way home. I'm done chasing him. Do not tell Blue he went missing or all he'll do is worry. Alright?" Shads grabbed Sonic's arm with a gentle yet firm grip.

"Yeah. I will go look for him later, that is if he is not back by midnight." Sonic said. This Shadow could still be intimidating when he wanted to.

"We both will. But only after blue is asleep, Chaos Control!" They both appeared before the hospital address Blue sent Shads. A chillidog stand was open and serving food a block away, "Let's go there first."
