PoV: 3rd Person

"What the hell?" The smaller male of the couple stood in subtle shock of what they had walked into.

"Nice try Faker, you won't distract me that easily," Shadow ignored what seemed like Sonic's voice to ready another punch.

"Shadow… look…" Sonic forced Shadow's head to turn with a strong push to his cheek.

“You gotta be fucking kidding me! There are two Fakers?!" Shadow snapped.

"Did I interrupt you two?" The blue hedgehog before them smiled as he knelt down before his matching counterpart.

"Sonic, what did you find- oh," the larger male came out from the bushes, "Now what Mr. Hero?"

“You real?” Sonic sat up and poked his lookalike's cheek. “You think they are Eggman robots?” He whispered to his rival.

"We're not robots. You guys must have chaos controlled to our dimension," the sweater wearing male smiled, "I'm this world's Sonic. You know Shadow, this one is on my team."

"Like hell I'll ever be on his team.” Shadow huffed and folded his arms over his chest.

"I used to think like that too, but change can lead to something better than expected," the dimension's original Shadow retaliated with confidence.

“The world will end before we will get along," Sonic rolled his eyes. He wished it could be different. He wanted to befriend Shadow, but the ebony hedgehog didn’t want to be around him at all. Shadow hummed and nodded, agreeing with the other, which might be the first time that ever happened.

“Oh, don’t say that. I’m sure you will get along!” The slightly smaller blue hedgehog smiled.

“Never.” Shadow snarled. He would rather die than get along with the blue hero.

“Never say never, Shad.” Sonic said teasingly and grinned over to the ebony hedgehog who glared at him.

“Never.”

Sonic rolled his eyes and looked back to their lookalikes. “Do you guys know how we can get back? We no longer have the Chaos Emerald we chaos controlled with.”

"Hm…" the sweat wearing hero stood up while in thought, "No, we don't. We'll just have to look for your chaos emerald so you can chaos control back. Which emerald was it?"

“The green one.” Shadow answered. “But we don’t even know if it is in this world. For all we know it could be back in our world.”

"Well I guess we could use one of ours, but we'll have to find them first," the smallest male held his hand out to help his new found counterpart, "You can stay with us for now."

"I don’t agree to this," his partner sighed, "Stop deciding things on your own."

"It's my house, I'll do whatever I want," the azure male pulled his counterpart up to his feet.

“Even though that’s really generous of you, you, being me, know that I don’t mind spending the night outdoors.” Sonic put a hand on his hip. “Being one with nature, feeling the fresh night breeze, looking up at the stars.”

"But it could take weeks to find a chaos emerald. You should at least know where my place is," the small male smiled.

“Yeah, a comfy place will do from time to time,” Sonic chuckled softly. “And I think I know where your place is. I mean, this world is just like ours, right?”

"We can't know for sure. I live outside of town here. Shadow lives a few feet this way," the shorter Sonic pointed in the direction of Shadow's house.

"Don't come in uninvited. I can be very busy," this dimension’s Shadow sighed, knowing all too well that he couldn't stop his teammate's ideas.

“I’m not planning on coming anytime soon. I’m going off on my own. Anything is better than having to be around not one, but two idiots. Not to mention this version of me which is too nice to my liking.” Shadow was about to walk off when Sonic grabbed his wrist.

“You’re not going anywhere. We are stuck here together, whether you like it not. Knowing you, you will leave me behind as soon as you find a Chaos Emerald.” Sonic crossed his arms and glared at the ebony hedgehog who glared back. Now they were having a glaring contest.

"This brings back memories~" the blue male laughed.

"Don't remind me," his teammate rolled his eyes, "Alright, play time is over," he grabbed both of the new hedgehogs by their wrists, "Chaos Control."

A split second later and they were all in the living room of a clean house. Moments later and the azure hedgehog caught up with them at his own house.

"That's settled," the smaller Sonic sat down on his sofa, "Now how about some chillidogs for lunch?"

“Chilli dogs?! Give me! Give me!” Sonic got hyped, maybe a bit too hyped.

"I'll order a party size box," the azure left the room to make the order.

"Sonic, get me salad," the ebony hedgehog shouted.

"Okay~" the response was soft as it came from the next room.

Shadow was leaning against the wall, being all grumpy. He didn’t want anything, not like he needed it. He didn’t want to be here but it wasn’t like he could chaos control away as he didn’t have a Chaos Emerald. Within the fifteen minutes it took the food to arrive, the guest room had been prepared and a blanket was set for whoever slept on the couch. Both Sonic's had no hesitation in digging into the chilli dogs, leaving a single chilli dog left.

"I'm going home," the taller Shadow had finished his salad, "Call me if these two are too much to handle."

"I can handle a bit of babysitting. Have a nice night~" the azure waved his teammate goodbye and started cleaning up. While the azure did that, Sonic was trying to convince Shadow to eat something, like the chili dog that was left, but the ebony hedgehog refused. Both hedgehogs were being stubborn and were not listening to each other. This ended, once again, up in a fight. The azure male in the other room sighed at hearing that another fight had broken loose. He had to break them apart to keep his house from being destroyed.

The rest of the day went more smoothly. Sonic, wanting to know more about this dimension, asked questions about their friends, enemies, etc. When the night had fallen, the rivals had another argument. This time it was about who was going to sleep in the bed and who on the couch.

“I claim the bed!” Sonic ran to the guest bedroom thinking he would be there before Shadow.

“No you don’t!” Shadow went after him.

“Ha! I win!” Sonic threw his arms in the air when he reached the guest room. Shadow didn’t stop in time and they crashed into each other. Sonic stumbled forward but caught himself up. He turned around and stuck his tongue out at the other male. “I get the bed.” The blue hero grinned in victory and sat on the bed with his leg folded over the other.

“I don’t think so.” Shadow grabbed his leg and pulled him off the bed.

“Why would you need a bed?! You don’t even sleep!” Sonic glared at the other hedgehog as he rubbed his behind on which he had fallen.

“I want my own place, away from you.” Shadow crossed his arms over his chest.

“Your place can be the couch.” Sonic copied the other and folded his arms over his chest, leaning on one leg.

“No.” Shadow narrowed his eyes at his rival.

“Fine.” Sonic rolled his eyes and made his way out. “I was going to sleep outside anyway!”

“Then why did we have this argument?!”

Sonic found himself a nice tree to lie in. He got himself comfortable with his back against the tree trunk and his legs resting on a branch.

Is this world really like ours? Sonic wondered. A grin appeared on his muzzle before he jumped out of the tree and landed in his running pose. Only one way to find out!
