Absolute Chaos

PoV: 3rd Person

"Yo Shadow, you're looking for this." Sonic grinned as he tossed the Chaos Emerald he had in his hand in the air and caught it again.

"Give that back, Hedgehog!" Shadow growled furiously at the blue hedgehog. He thought he had lost his Emerald but apparently his rival had stolen it from him. "I don't know how you got it, but I want it back!"

"How about this? We will have a race and if you win, I will let you have it. If not, you're not getting it." Sonic continued tossing the Chaos Emerald when it flipped out of his fingers. It fell on the ground which caused it to crack, not that any of the two hedgehogs noticed. Sonic casually picked it up as if nothing happened. "So, what do you say?"

"Fine..." Shadow grumbled, agreeing to the deal much to his dislike.

"Great!" Sonic smiled feeling satisfied that he had gotten Shadow to race with him. "The finish line will be at the Chemical Plant Zone."

"Why there?" Shadow asked as he raised an eyebrow. Sonic shrugged then got into racing position.

"Are you getting ready or what?" Sonic gave him his cocky grin to which Shadow rolled his eyes. He got into racing position beside the blue hero and waited for the other to count down.

"3.. 2.. 1.. You're too slow!" 

And like that, they took off. They were going head to head, as always. Both were dodging obstacles along the way while Sonic also had to dodge the kicks and punches that Shadow was trying to hit him with, not that he was succeeding. Their destination was getting closer and closer. Sonic sped up but so did Shadow so they were even again.

"Give up, Shad! You're never going to win from me!"

"In your dreams, Faker."

They reached the finish line and came to a halt, both claiming victory. Now they were both arguing about who had won, none of the two agreeing with the other.

"I don't care, Hedgehog, give me back my Emerald!" Shadow growled and tried to grab the Chaos Emerald when Sonic tossed it up in the air.

"Nah-ah-ah~" Sonic took a step back, taking the Emerald with him. "I'm not giving it to you that easily."

"That is it! I'm done with this!" Shadow launched forward to grab the Emerald. As soon as he had his hands on it, he would chaos control far away from this annoying blue rodent. Sonic saw this coming and went to chaos control as well.

"CHAOS CONTROL!"

The crack in the Chaos Emerald ceased uncontrollable Chaos Energy as it was 'leaking' out of the crack. Since both hedgehogs had another place in mind, the Chaos Energy wasn't focused on one thing and it 'overloaded'. A bright white light could be seen from miles away and when it dimmed, the blue hero nor the ebony anti-hero were in sight.

  A blinding light appeared in the woods. It seemed brighter than the sun hanging in the sky. The light faded but it had caught the attention of a couple nearby. Red eyes immediately recognized the light as it shone through their window. The bright light waking the smaller body beside them in bed.

"Where are you going~" the sleepy male yawned, "I want my snuggles..."

"That will have to wait, someone outside just used chaos control," the red eyed male pulled on their gloves and shoes.

"It's probably just Silver and Blaze coming by to visit," the smaller hedgehog pulled on his partner's arm down towards him for attention.

"The light didn't feel right. You're a hero right? So get up and do your hero work," The larger, red eyed, male pulled his partner's arm to haul him out of bed.

"Okay, okay, you're right. Unmanaged chaos control is bad news," the smaller partner grabbed his favorite sweater and shoes, "You owe me for this. I'm still sore after all."

"I thought the hero of mobius could handle anything," the ebony male scoffed.

"I can, this pain is nothing. But its still annoying to deal with. Let's go see who showed up," the small azure male bolted towards the direction of the light with his comrade close behind.

"Ngh.." A groan left peach lips as Sonic came back to consciousness. His eyes fluttered open and he saw Shadow in the corner of his eyes. It looked like he had just gained back consciousness as well. "What happened?" Sonic questioned as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. He held his head and closed his eyes at feeling lightheaded. "Nice going, Shadow."

"It's my fault?!" Shadow scolded at his rival. "You're the one to blame, Hedgehog."

"If you hadn't grabbed the Emerald and chaos controlled, this wouldn't have happened." Sonic got up and dusted himself off. He found himself back against the ground when Shadow tackled him.

"I'm not going to ask it again, give me back my Emerald." Shadow snarled and he pinned the blue hero down. He was done with this. He wanted to leave, but not without his Chaos Emerald.

"Dude! I don't have it!" Sonic pulled his leg in and kicked the ebony hedgehog in the chest, kicking the other of him. If Shadow wanted a fight, he would get one. 

  Both were rolling around, still fighting with each other. The sound of rustling leaves went ignored by the battling rivals. Neither noticed the couple getting closer to their location.

"Faker!"

"Asshole!"

"What the hell?"
