Tristan rises from the cold floor. His body is stiff. He checks his phone. It's dead. Ran out of battery. He doesn't know how long he has passed out.
He stretches his body for a while. He looks around. Everything seems intact. No trespassers yet.
People tend to rob others in Apocalypse days.
His right eye is throbbing. He looks down and finds the bottle of eye drops in a small plastic bag. He applies few drops to his right eye.
It stings too much.
He goes to bathroom to find a mirror.

"My eye turned green?"
He is shocked. His eye color used to be reddish brown.
Tristan closes his left eye and looks around him. His vision is normal. At least the right eye is still functioning.
He sighs.
I had hoped I got some power. Forget it. Once a commoner, always one.
In his last life, he is also an ordinary guy. No special power. Just a strong will to live.
He goes to feed his chickens.
Maybe it's just his feelings. The chickens are glaring at him right now. They are mad because their owner has starved them for few days.
"Eat well. Live well. Don't be angry anymore."
The chickens are clucking while pecking the dry corns.
Tristan has decided to give them a good meal today. To make amends to them.
He turns on the light bulb.
It seems the solar panel is working. There is light in the small chicken coop.
Tristan goes to check his potted plants. He waters them for a while.
The veggies are his future foods. He must look after them well.
Gunshots could be heard from the streets below. Tristan takes a look through a window.
A military truck is disposing nearby zombies.
Tristan sighs out of relief. It seems the military is still running. It's a good thing.
Order is needed in this town.
After the zombies are taken care. A soldier speaks through a speaker.
He asks, "Any survivor here? We are securing the base right now."
Tristan immediately unlocks the front door and goes out of a balcony.
He yells, "Up here."
The soldier takes out a binoculars and looks into it. A young man is waving his hands toward him. He is on the highest floor.
