17. Lost

Some men and women have gathered for their first mission as mercs.

Tristan looks around him. He has joined to hone his skills and get free ticket meals to the army canteen.

Since Axell left, he has to rely on instant noodles to live. After three days, he got tired eating them.

There are twenty ability users here. Tristan only knows few of them.

Rose is flicking her finger, creating a small fire in her fingertips. She has done it on purpose. To scare away perverts.

It's hard to be a beautiful woman. Too many men covet her.

Mike is standing next to her, guarding her back. He is a friendly guy. He gets along with Rose quite well.

Axell is playing with a metal ball in a corner of the room. He pays no attention to Tristan at all.

Wade, Jael and Bryan are discussing something at this moment.

Richard and Blair have entered the Guild Hall.

Richard announces, "This is our first mission. Because no team has been formed officially, we go out together. The soldiers would help out today."

Axell stares Blair and then Richard. When he sees his uncle sneers, he knows it's his dirty handywork. His little mischiefs again.

Tristan approaches him and asks, "Are you okay? Are you ready for the mission?"

"I'm always ready."

Tristan is silent. He isn't used to this cold treatment yet. Axell used to flirt with him. Giving him all the best in the world for him.

Axell's teammates have gathered around them.

Axell stares them. He knows well about Rose and Mike' s abilities because he has helped training them personally.

He is confident about Tristan's shooting abilities too. He stares the newbies.

He asks, "What's your power? State them clearly right now."

Wade replies, "Power type."

It means his strength is stronger than most ordinary men.

Jael says, "Wind type."

Bryan is silent.

Axell asks, "You?"

"I'm just a normal guy with a good hunch."

Tristan tries to persuade him, "You are a doctor. You don't need to do missions like us."

Axell snorts and looks another way. It hurts to see the one you like treats another man better than you.

Bryan smiles when he replies, "I could protect myself."

Jael sneers. Bryan is pig eating tiger. He looks frail and weak. Lost count how many men he had killed on their roads here. Most people just looked down on him because of his gentle demeanor.
