11. Rescue A Beauty

"Zombies!"

Some zombies are biting and killing people near the walls.

Axell waves his hand and nails fly up to the air. Striking the heads and kill all the zombies on spot.

He falls to his knees, gasping for breath. The other metal users are staring him with awe.

Axell wipes his sweaty forehead.

He says, "Continue practicing. Zombies would pose no threat to you if you're strong."

"Yes!"

The workers look encouraged.

Axell looks around.

More refugees have turned into zombies in the last week. The base has selected more carefully. No one bitten could enter it.

Why did they become zombies?

He needs to warn Richard.

His uncle is talking with Tristan when Axell arrives. Richard has called him to consult about base problems.

Tristan says, "The water is polluted. It might be the cause for infection. You need to warn citizens to boil water first. Don't drink the sediment."

"It's a bit troublesome. Not everyone could afford water purification system."

Axell comments, "The base should provide clean drinking water. We can't let zombies roam freely within the walls."

Richard snorts.

He complaints, "The Army has too many workloads. It won't be possible to add more burden to his soldiers."

Axell says, "We have many civillians. Use them."

"How? They got no training. No one to manage them."

"You forget my last occupation? I'm the CEO. Leave it to me. I will make a company to install water purification and solar panels to houses."

"Hmm...okay, you handle it."

"We will need solar panels and water purification machines. Could the army provide them?"

"Negative. We got solar panels. It won't be enough for everyone. We still haven't get water purification system yet."

Suddenly Tristan asks, "Why don't the base make central water purification system? The people could work and earn water as payment."

Axell nods his head.

He comments, "It sounds reasonable. Money is worthless in this era. We don't get enough zombie cores for payment."

He smiles when he asks, "Tris, do you know where to get water purification system?"

"No. I think there is bottled water factory in this province. Could we use the machineries?"

Richard nods his head.

He says, "I will arrange it. I want you two to assist in next mission."

Axell protests, "Tris won't...."

"I'll go. Thank you."

"Tris, it's dangerous," warns Axell.

Tristan says, "I have to hone my skills. Otherwise I might be dead in the next zombie attacks."

"Very well. Stay close to me. I'll protect you."

Richard pushes them out of his office while complaining, "Stop feeding dog foods (PDA) to this single dog. Go away. I have work to do."
