Getting A Job

          I woke up early the next morning, it took me a little bit to remember that I had school that day. I quickly got up and got dressed and ready for the school day. 'I wonder how school will be here. If and when I meet the rangers. Have they already become the rangers yet?' I thought to myself as I got dressed, I ate breakfast after that then brushed my teeth. I grabbed my bag and put my shoes on, then walked out of the door, locking it. I put the key into my pocket and started my walk to school. The house was not that far from the school, Mom probably planned it so I wouldn't have to walk to far to get to school. As I got to the parking lot of the school, I noticed a group of other kids hanging out by the doorway. I gulped, I wasn't the best when it came to a lot of people in one area. I sighed and got my courage up to go and talk to them.

"May we help you?" the guy that seemed like the leader of the group asked politely, they all turned to look at me, smiling kindly at me.

"I'm new here and I was wondering where the office was at? I need to get my timetable and was told to get it from him" I said, stuttering a little bit. "Welcome to Angel Grove I'm Jason, that's Zack, Trini, Kimberly and Billy" Jason said, he pointed to each of them as he said their names. When he said their name they smiled and waved at me.

"I can walk you there if you want" Kimberly offered,

"Yes please, thank you. And nice to meet you all" I told them, as we were walking away I heard them say 'you as well'.

"No problem. What made you want to move here if you don't mind my asking?" she asked.

 "I don't mind at all, and to get a fresh start" I told her.

"Makes sense" she said, "Were all going to the Angel Grove Youth Center after school if you want to come and hang out with us" she offered me, I was shocked, they had just meet me not long ago and here she was inviting me to go hang out with them.

"Are you sure that it is alright, I don't want to intrude on you all, I mean you just meet me" I told her.

"Positive, you seem like a very nice girl, and your new in town, it would be nice to get to know you" she explained to me.

"I'd love to join then" I told her, finding no way to be able to say no to her.

"See you then" she said, "Here's the office, need any help finding your classes?" she asked me.

"Thanks, but I think I can manage" I told her. I didn't want to take too much of her time. She smiled, waved and walked away. I sighed as I walked into the office, Mr. Caplan was at his desk, he looked up as I walked into the room. He smiled and motioned me to sit on the chair in front of his desk, I did as he asked. When I sat down, he began to talk

"Ah, you must be the transfer student Miss Langtree" he said.

"Yes sir" I told him, looking at my hands in my lap. He began to tell me the rules and what was expected of me at his school. After his speech, he handed me my timetable, a d sent me off to my classes. It did take a while for me to find my classes, but in the end I did. Thankfully I was not late to none of my classes.

        After classes were finished, I was at my locker putting my stuff up that I did not have to take home. In the corner of my eyes I saw the two known bullies Bulk and Skull, from what I heard they were really mean. Skull stood on the right side of me and Bulk on the other, they were leaning on the lockers.

"Well, what do we have here Skull, the new student" Bulk said, chewing on his gum. Skull laughed also chewing on some gum.

"She is cute" he said, they both started to bother me. I was about to run, when Kimberly came by, we made eye contact, I pleaded her with my eyes to help me. She smiled at me and walked over,

"Boys leave her alone" she said when she made it to us.

"We're not bothering her, just telling her about the school" Bulk said.

"Yeah school" Skull repeated, she rolled her eyes, grabbed my hand and dragged me away to which I was thankful for.

"Thank you" I told her after we got away from them. "No problem, ready to go?" she asked, when I nodded she linked my arm with hers, and we started walking to the center. She seemed really nice, we got along really well with each other. When we walked in, they welcomed me with open arms, they even bought me a smoothie, to which I told them they didn't have to,

"Consider it a welcome to the town present" Trini said, they smiled at me,

"Well thank you" I said, taking a sip of drink, it was a strawberry smoothie mixed with some honey, it was so good.

"You are most welcome" Billy said. We talked for awhile, I noticed that Ernie was getting swamped with orders, having finished my drink, I decided to ask if he needed help while putting my cup away.

"I'm going to go ask if he needs help, I need something to do in the afternoons anyway" I told them.

"That's really nice of you" Zack said,

"I love to help, want me to bring your glasses up while I'm going" I said taking notice that they were done.

"You don't have to" Jason said,

"I want to" I replied, they handed me the cups. I grabbed them and brought them over to Ernie, "They were good, I was wondering if you needed help in the afternoons" I told him as I got there.

"Thank you and I can use the help, are you any good at making smoothies?" he asked,

"Yeah, I love making them, made them all the time back home, everyone that I made one for said they loved them" I said smiling.

"How about you come back tomorrow and I'll give you a trail day" he said, smiling seeming relieved to possibly get some help.

"Sounds good" I said going back to the gang.

"How'd it go?" Trini asked me as I sat down.

"Went good, he's going to give me a trail run tomorrow" I told them, they congratulated me and wished me luck.

"We'll be your first costumers" Billy said,

"Thanks" I said. After that they went to do their thing, Jason teaching a class, Trini and Kim(she told me to call her that) went to dance, and Zack went to the other side dancing as well. That is when Bulk and Skull showed up, they went to Kim and Trini and tried to hit on them. Jason and Zack went to stand up to them, Kim stopped them,

"We can take them" Kim said,

"Oh really" Bulk said, and they took them down, it was awesome. Not too long after that there was an earthquake, I clung to the bottom of a nearby table, as I watched everyone run out. I was too scared to get up, I had never felt an earthquake before. I was shocked as I watched my friends get beamed up by a bright light, this was the start of the rangers. After everything calmed down, I got up and walked outside.

"You okay?" Ernie asked as I got outside,

"I'm fine, shocked" I didn't tell him why though, I was mostly shocked to see them go like that. He told me to be safe on the way home and that'd he see me tomorrow.

        After school the next day, I arrived at the center early.

"Your early" he said as he saw me come in, no one was here yet.

"Didn't want to show a bad first impression and be late" I told him, he smiled. He gave me a shirt and I put it over my other shirt, getting everything ready. I was shocked when my first customers were indeed my friends. "You guys are my first" I told them,

"Told you we would be" Billy said with a laugh. They ordered their drinks. Didn't take me long to make, I watched as they took a sip,

"This is amazing" Trini said, they all agreed, I blushed which made them and me laugh. After they finished, they all walked toward the rope, Jason climbed it, of course going to the top, when he was back down, Bulk and Skull came in, Bulk talking smack that he could climb it. They laughed and told him to prove it, when he tried the first time he fell, the second time, the roof came with him. A little bit later, they all started to run out the center,

"Sorry Ava" I heard Trini say as she passed. There had to be an attack. I wanted to go see, but I had a job to do, and I cannot just leave in my first day.
