Time flew like a dove as Mandodari was in her last trimester already. She was treated just like a queen and a pregnant woman should be treated. Everyone showered her with care and gifts. Mandodari was content and satisfied with her life. Her husband showered her with all the love and care, treating her like a delicate princess.
She was forbidden from working or doing the chores that exhausted her or were tiring. Everyone made sure that she is free from all the mental pressure. Her routine was kept simple and comforting. She used to wake up and get a nice jasmine and coconut oil massage from the dasis for comforting her sour and swollen body. Then she busied herself with her pooja and donations to the poor and needy.
Then her whole day went talking to the maids, doing little work and taking nutritious food that the rajvaidya of Lanka prescribed. It was yet another day in her pregnancy as she sat comfortably, closing her eyes and enjoying the gentle hands of the dasi on her swollen feet while she hummed a melody, caressing her swollen belly.
Mandodari sighed in contentment and opened her eyes. Her smiling face turned into a frowning one as she noticed the crying expression of the dasi.
"Sohanika, what's the matter? Is everything alright?" She asked gently keeping a hand on her shoulder, trying not to scare her but looked like she failed as the dasi immediately looked down and shivered in fear. She sighed.
