Mandodari laid on her bed, curled up in a ball, crying silently. Ravan's behavior hurt her. She knew Ravan's aggression but for some reason, it hurt her. She tried her best to lead him to the right path but he didn't seem to go on it.
But she promised herself that she would try till her last breath. She knew Ravan's love for her was pure and pious. Just his ego never let him agree to her. Maybe his ego was bigger than the love they shared but that doesn't mean their love is fake.
Love was not about loving each other's good qualities only, it was about loving each other as a whole. Mandodari loved Ravan and so did he. But she was afraid that someday his ego will eat up their love and his ego will win over their relationship.
She sighed as she buried her face more into the pillow. She didn't want to cry and portray that she was weak. But she was still crying, burying herself more into the bed as if wanting it to swallow her.
She then felt familiar arms spooning her from behind. His face buried in her hair, hand around her bare waist as he engulfed her small stature in his huge one. Mandodari made no attempt in facing him. She was too hurt to do that.
"Priye?" He asked while she pretended to sleep.
"I know you are awake." He said and Mandodari stiffened.
"Face me love." He said in a soft tone that Mandodari couldn't ignore. She sighed and turned around but still didn't look him in the eye. She felt him kissing her head as she closed her eyes.
"Priye, you really know how to ignite my anger, don't you? You can't talk about yourself like that. No one can talk about you in such a way not even yourself." He explained.
"So you can talk about someone else's wife and daughter like that then." She wanted to counter attack but refrained from doing so as she remembered their conversation from the day.
"And about me loosing, it cannot happen priye. I'm the one who lifted kailash, I'm mahadev's biggest devotee. He will never let me loose." Ravan said and Mandodari sighed at his words.
