"Why Gauri? We already have such a beautiful place as our home, our Kailash. Why do you need a palace?" Mahadev asked politely. Then mata Parvati narrated the whole incident that happened in Vaikunth. Mahadev smiled listening to his innocent wife.
"Gauri, the wise do not think in such a way. The person who has a possibility of falling from higher position to a lower one should be afraid of respect and disrespect. And this is the reason that we have sprawled our pew (aasan) on the earth to remain grounded, down to earth. Where will we fall from the foundation my aparna. And this is the reason we've always lived a satisfied life. Respect and disrespect is a myth, a mere illusion." Mahadev tried his best to persuade Mata Gauri but today she was in a trance, not caring about anyone.
"No Mahadev! I will not eat as single grain of food or even a drop of water until my wish is granted. I will die but not eat or drink anything until you I take revenge from Lakshmi. I want to show her that we are no less. Consider this my last wish." She stated furiously.
"It's not right to be so rigid gauri. Please calm down."
"Will you grant me my last wish or not?" She asked, on the verge of crying.
Mahadev sighed. He couldn't see his Gauri crying. So without a delay, he called for the best architect, Vishwakarma. Vishwakarma ji came to kailash as soon as the message reached him. Mata Gauri's face broke into a big smile as she saw Vishwakarma ji. She knew that mahadev granted her the wish.
"Mahadev, you sent a message for my earliest arrival. How can this servant of your help you?" Vishwakarma ji bowed in front of him.
"Vishwakarma, I request you to build a palace for my Uma, just as she wants."
"Mahadev, it will be my greatest honor if I would be able to do anything that makes you and mata happy. Mata Parvati, please tell me the kind of palace you want." he requested.
"Vishwakarma ji, I want you to build a beautiful and magnanimous palace for me. A palace that is amidst the sea, with four doors. It should be made of gold and the walls, ceilings and even the floors should be studded with precious and rare gems, pearls and stones. The palace should have beautiful and never seen before gardens with rare and magnificent flowers, hot and cold water streams in the entire palace, the palace should be very clean and it should have paved roads with cemented houses so that people will not have to live in huts of hay and grass. The whole palace should be of gold, even the doors, tehy should also be studded with diamonds, kundan and meena of different colors. The utensils should be of gold, the verandah should be of gold, the beds, the furniture, everything should be of gold. My palace should be luxurious and lavish with all the comforts. It should be like never seen before. So that when Lakshmi sees this, she will get to know whom she insulted." After giving the whole description, Mata Parvati gritted her teeth at the end.
