we pulled up to my mama house obviously at the same time. I turned my car off and got out heading towards the door.
i knocked on it three times den i thought about it and started knocking again.
the door swung open and i looked down seeing my mama muggin making me smile
"what the fuck wrong with you Demari?" she asked
"i missed you mama" i bent down giving her a hug which she accepted
"i missed you too boy, i see you listened to me" she looked around me towards Domi
"hey mama!" he called stepping out the car and walking around to open it for Maya. She walked to the back to get Skyler
"oou hey Miss Maya, you look good" my mama smiled pushing me out the way and walking out the house
"damn she don't see me?" Domi mugged looking the two of them hug
"heyy mama" Maya smiled back at her as she stepped into the hug
"and my pretty baby" she bent down to give Sky a hug as well
We all walked in the house, my mama making sure to close and lock her door.
"i should really kick yall ass" She pointed at me and Domi
"what we do?" he asked looking over at her
"you got a baby Demari?" she asked and i scrunched my face up
"hell nah" i frowned
"stop allat fucking cussing, ion know where you got that from." she mugged me "but your girlfriend stopped by with a baby claiming he was yours" she pressed her lips together
"ian raise no deadbeats" She finished off
"if she got a baby she shole ain tell me. we been broke up" i answered
"awl den tell the bitch to stop coming to my house. got me getting attached to that damn baby" she frowned again
"keep making dat face you gone get stuck like dat" I stood up from the couch and walked towards the kitchen "whatchu got in here for me?" I asked opening the refrigerator.
"not a damn thang" i heard her call to me "i was about to cook up if you wanna stay" she added
"hell yea we staying" Domi spoke up. We might be biased my my mama was the best cook i knew.
"chile yall only come to use me i see" she sighed.
I walked back in the living room after fixing me sum to drink
"don't spill nun on my couch Demari" she gave me dat look like i was a lil kid
"i won't" i said lowly. The only person who could make me feel like i was 5 all over again was her.
She'd always been hard on me and my brother seeing she was the only parent in the house. We thought she was mean growing up but as we got older we started to appreciate it more and more.
Even now, as much as she fusses or yells we know her soft spot is her kids and now her grandkid.
"when you gone bring a pretty lady in for me to meet Demari?" she asked looking around until she found her remote. she grabbed it and turned the tv on.
"shiid at this rate never" i answered. Ain nun of these hoes good enough to meet my mom.
"i heard about you running around with that lil boy. How old is he?" she asked
"finna turn 19" i answered and she hummed
"be careful das all imma say. I wanna meet em too" she added
"i'll have to see when he free. Nigga always at work" i kissed my teeth thinking about it. Im always at the mall now jus chilling with him.
"awl you got you a nice one." she sent a fake smile before her face dropped "don't do no dumb shit"
"who side you on?" i asked mugging her slightly and she shrugged making the both of us laugh.
"oh i wanna say, ian have a reason for yall to come i really jus missed my boys. y'all act like y'all too old to come see me every once in a while." she frowned at me and Domi
"I'll start swinging by here more, ya son on the other hand do be acting fake" I said and all the attention fell on him
"tuh, blame Maya and Sky. they always got me running around doing something" he said tryna defend himself.
"youn be busy enough not to check on ya mama. i was jus telling you that about Mari" Maya pressed her lips together looking at him "im starting to think you the problem"
"he definitely the problem" me and my mama said at the same time before looking at each other muggin. after a few seconds we both busted out laughing.
"Y'all act jus alike" Maya laughed too "both got that spray bottle laugh" she added
"tuh that nigga wish he could be like me" My mama rolled her eyes flipping through channels on her tv "lemme get in here and cook tho so y'all can get the hell out my house." she stood up and walked toward the kitchen.
My phone started ringing and i felt around my pockets till i found it. I answered seeing it was Caylon
"wassu-" He cut me off
"where you at?" he asked lowly
"at my mama house, why we whispering?" I asked
"i need you to come get me" he voice was going in and out. "you still got my location" he added
"where the fuck you at?" i asked standing up looking for my keys.
"i was supposed to be goin home but-" he stopped talking and it went silent for a few minutes.
"text me when you're outside" and with that he hung up the phone.
i was beyond confused but either way i was finna go get em.
"i'll be right back" I told Domi and Maya walking out the front door and to my car.
