"you know the lil carnival downtown is back" Saniya told me through the phone.
"you wanna go?" I asked her before reaching down and sliding my jeans up. i frowned slightly standing in the mirror seein i couldn't zip em up.
i took em back off before walking to my closet and grabbing a random pair of ripped jeans.
"Yea when you off again?" she asked me
"im off this weekend or on wednesday if you wanna go when it's less people" i told her sliding these jeans on and zipping em up.
i already had on a grey cropped t shirt so i walked to the drawer to get sum pink scrunchy socks and i put em on.
i stepped into my shoes before grabbing a random pink purse and spraying myself down in Prada Candy.
i stood in front of my mirror and took pictures of myself before choosing two to post on instagram.
i swiped over seeing i had a text and it was Mari tellin me he was outside so i looked around making sure i had everything.
"im finna call you back" i told her hanging the phone up and turning my light off before walking out my room.
i noticed my mom was gone so i turned the tv off before walking out the front door making sure to lock it behind me
i walked down the hallway and to his car before sliding in
"wassup" he kept it short, pullin out and getting on the highway
"can you take me to Gino's?" i asked him
"yea order it, nd get me sum wings. imma pay for it" he told me and i grabbed my phone to call em
"that ghetto ass white bitch been working there forever" i scrunched my face up when i got off the phone "she so rude" i laughed lightly to myself
"whatchu doin for ya birthday?" he asked me.
"nun big plus i got two months to figure it out" i shrugged "i did all the crazy shit for 18"
"u ready to graduate?" he asked
i was telling him about all the stuff i wanted to do for graduation a few days ago. I had about a week left of school but ian have no classes.
"hell yea, feels like i did already ion ever be at school" i laughed slightly "i jus want my diploma ion even gotta walk for real"
"das part of the experience" he said "i wished i woulda walked lookin back on it"
"you ain graduate?" i asked looking over at him
"nah i did, ian go to graduation. i got a diploma and shit" he answered
"why you ain walk then?"
"i ended up doin sum like it after the fact thanks to Ace, but i was dealing wit shit wit my mama" he said
i ranted to him about my mom a lot and he told me stories about him and his dad but he never talked about his mom.
i chose not to pry because i figured if he wanted to talk about her he would.
we made it to Gino's and he turned his car off before we both got out.
He opened the door for me and i walked in heading to the counter
"can you get me something to drink?" i asked and he nodded walking off while i finished payin for the food
i turned around looking for Mari when i saw two girls walk through the door.
i recognized one as Kareena who surprisingly wasn't pregnant and another girl walking behind her.
"I told dat bitch if i caught him wit that gay ass nigga again i was gone beat his ass" she was talking loud as fuck
i made sure i had everything before checking my phone when i felt it vibrate.
Mari told me he was in the car so i was walking towards the door when he walked in.
"it's open" he told me and i walked outside before slippin in.
"nah cause i told yo dumbass" maybe she jus had a loud voice. Kareena followed Mari all the way out the store
"yeen fightin nobody, you being weird as fuck" he looked calm but based on how he was clenching his jaw i could tell he was mad
"im being weird?!" she got all in his face making me sigh cause i was ready to go back home "you been hanging around this lil ass boy!" she tried to swing on him but he caught her hands
awl she must be mad at me.
i rolled my eyes before stepping back out the car. "fuck u out here for? sit to ass down" Mari put his attention on me
"you needa keep yo hands to yo self cause if he knock yo ass out den what?" i looked at her and she turned around scrunching her face up
"im not finna argue witchu" Mari let her hands go "you wanna be a bitch so bad" she rolled her eyes
i mugged slightly "why would i wanna be a female? when life goin perfectly fine bein a nigga" i asked her
"you so fuckin weird it's sad" she looked at me softening her face
i said the first thing that came to mind "why you worried about me and not yo baby?" she tried to run up on me but Mari pulled her back
"dont be speakin on shit youn know about!" she screamed tryna get out his grip
"get in the fuckin car G" Mari gritted at me. I rolled my eyes at him before doin as told
he said a few more things to her and she walked away before he got in the car.
