I had a gorgeous penguine duo
night light in my room.
It was battery powered, and glowed
different colors when it was
Turned on.
Being light sensitive, every time I
turned the light on,
The fast changing colorful lights, hurt
My eyes so much, it almost felt
Like I was staring hard at the sun.
Being a doodler,
I tried to shade some of the light
From affecting my eyes when the
colors changed by doodling on
specific surface areas where the light
Appeared the brightest.
I drew designs on the penguins
Hoping the designs would add
More excitement to it's
Overall appearance and possibly
Stop the light, from blinding me.
I painted on some yellow on the
sleeves, white then black
(Cause you know?👉🏽👈🏽 penguine vibes 🐧)
Then a weird urge pushed me into
adding turquoise on the beak and
then, more splurges of black here and
there for touch ups.
It got to the time, to examine the
finished work,
and put the light to test,
I held up the night light and turned it
back on.
It was barely glowing and the light
appeared so dim, one would think
That something was either wrong
with the battery, or the night light as a
whole was broken.
...
But this little guy was just perfect,
Maybe not for my eyes but
Untouched and unpainted,
Was one of it's greatest feature.
One could see the light transcend
from blue, flicker to green then red
Until it transitions to a mixture of
All the colors you can possibly
imagine.
Changing in just a twinkle of an eye,
Almost like it was sending an
unknown signal.
I wanted so badly to have it back
To it's original state but, all the
Colors were now staring back at
Me, comfortably coated for
permanence.
Sigh...😪
I had mixed feelings about
It's new state.
Even though now, I didn't
Have to worry about being blinded
anymore.
I now had a penguine that functioned
As an added room decor but I needed
A night light.
🥴
Your light you see,
Might just glow brighter in it's natural
state, just like my beautiful penguine
duo (that reminded me alot, about
Mumble and Norma Jean🐧 from
Happy feet)
When you stop trying
To find faults , or trying to
Force things to look the
Way you think might serve you best.
The manufacturer, is in a better
Position and has the knowledge
On just how to maneuver the
Light fixtures and settings
To meet a particular need.
And you,
Continue to be your best self
Your true self
Let yourself be loved
You are enough!
Just the way you are
Don't let ANYONE paint you
Different.
