The One That Got Away

Birthday girl...

"Happy birthday beautiful!" David walked into the bedroom waking me up from my slumber. I opened my eyes and seen a tray of food in his hands and presents on the bed.

"What a baby, thank you." I gushed over what he's done for me, I sat myself up against the headboard and David lay the tray on my lap. "Mmm honey this looks great." I stared down at a plate of waffles, egg, bacon, a bowl of fruit and orange juice. "I love you, c'mere." He leaned down over the bed and pecked my lips. I motioned for him to get under the covers with me and he snuggled up. I sat myself between his legs as we shared the food.

"You do know this is your food?" He laughed while accepting a grape from me.

"Uh huh, but I love sharing food with you. Thank you so much, you know you didn't have to." I just feel so humble with all that he does for me.

"Anything for you, and I did have to this and i will proceed to do things like this for such a princess like you." He leans down and kisses my neck and cheek.

"Uhh what did I do to deserve you? No seriously, you are just perfect in every way. I just-" my emotions got the better of my and I burst out crying. He turned me around and I knelt on my knees in a tight hug.

"You are so emotional... and I love that about you. You are saying all these things about me... what about you, it's your 29th birthday." I pull away and he wipes the tears from my cheeks.

"Oh don't say that, that makes me feel old." I giggle.

"You aren't even old... and you certainly don't look it."

"... I love you, I just love you so much that it hurts." He adjusts his legs and I sit myself on his lap.

"What do you want to do today?"

"Baby we have filming today and rehearsal beforehand. I guess getting older just means less playing with your presents, eating a bunch of sugar and doing nothing." I sigh and lean against his chest.

"Aww babe, I know. How about after filming we all go out for dinner?"

"Nah... hey I heard there's a drive in movie at 9 and we finish filming around 6 so we could go there." I get back up from David's chest.

"That's sounds perfect, what movies is there to go to?"

"It's 80s themed so there's three options. 'Back to the Future' ummm 'Ghost busters' or 'Mary Poppins' which do you want to see?"

"I know what one you want to see and I'm the same."

"Back to the Future it is then."

...

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN!" Everyone cheers as David and I walked towards my dressing room. There was a few banners hanging outside my dressing room and balloons on the floor.

"Aww you guys, thank you!" I walked over and gave everyone a hug, then I stood beside Courteney with my arm around her waist and hers around my shoulder.

"So how does it feel being 29?" Lisa asked.

"Not that different..." I chuckled. "..and I'm just as emotional."

"We were wondering if you wanted to go out for lunch? All six of us, Martha gave us the green light to go." Matt turned to me.

"That sounds really great, aww I love you guys."

David and I were laying in the back of his car with the trunk opened. The movie was finished and David had already fell asleep.

"Baby, the movie is finished." I gently shook his shoulders, his eyes fluttered opened and he sat up.

"Mmm, okay lets go home. I'll drive."
