A nation at a standstill, you've not once said hello,
Not mattering enough, so I think it's time to go
Memories of messages, sharing all our thoughts
All that effort down the drain; to me, the lesson taught
Tell me all about you, I told you tales of me
I now cringe at your offer to 'beat up that man' for me
The lengths that people go to, why get inside my head?
Couldn't shut you up, until you climbed into my bed
Keeping up my end, of all the promises I made
I don't regret what happened, I just feel a bit dismayed
I tried to be maintain friendship, regardless of the past
But your silence speaks such volumes, so I think our time has passed
You couldn't even meet for coffee, just one single time
I still have a book for you; forget it, it is mine
Looking up to you, in admiration and in awe I never asked for anything; just friendship, nothing more
Reached a point of mutual respect, I believed we'd be ok
To put the past behind us and still be friends today
Innocent our texts have been, since I tried to live a dream
So I won't ever understand, why you're nowhere to be seen
Just know I won't say anything
To cause you misery, but you not saying anything, regularly saddened me
Time to block your number, I wish you all the best
I hope your life is happy and your demons now can rest
Please don't ever come back, you're no longer my friend
For me to grow and be happy, this is where it has to end
