Expanse of ocean whispers to me
As the heat gets much to bare
Walk towards the calm sea
Kick off my footwear
Dip a toe and test the water
Expect to feel a chill
Surprising warmth this liquid matter
And there I just stood still
Clouds begin to darken
Spoiling such a sunny day
Start to feel disheartened
Try to push that sense away
They say 'still waters run deep'
A cliché makes me frown
Wisdom that they try to speak
Makes me want to drown
Colours of the summer sea
Quickly fade to grey
The shore calls out a warning to me
Yet to the horizon I will stray
Mind and body tired
Heart and soul are lost
Feelings are expired
Trusting someone comes with such an expensive cost
Here the waves are rough now
The temperature had dropped
Can someone save me somehow
Life on Earth has just been stopped
