Calikit refused to get up for days. Tansytail had delivered the horrid news to the rest of her family, and Foxtrot had not left her nest either. Oceankit had tried to cheer Stormkit up, but failed. Right now Oceankit was trying to persuade Stormkit to eat a thrush, but he kept insisting he wasn't hungry. Calikit felt her belly rumble, but she didn't care. Just let me die!!! She thought miserably. But dad out of his misery....called me!!!  She felt horrible all over again. " You can't make me!" Stormkit cried as Oceankit pushed the thrush closer to Stormkit. Oceankit stood up, fury glistening in her gaze. "That is IT!" She yowled. " I've had enough of this! You guys haven't eaten, drank, slept, or even bathed for day! The Clan needs you! What would Chirpkit say if she saw you now?" Her speech made Calikit stiffen. She stood up. "Your'e right." Calikit sighed. She turned to her mother and brother. " Would Chirpkit want us to kill ourselves? No! She would want us to be healthy, strong, and happy!" She turned to Oceankit. "If Stormkit still won't eat that thrush, I will!" Calikit took a huge bite out of the thrush, and realized how hungry she was. She devoured it in a few famished bites.  She stood up. " Oceankit, should we go get fresh-kill for these two slakers?" She teased, flicking her tail at her suprised family members. Oceankit giggled. "Sure!" They selected a tempting squirrel and robin from the pile, and watched in satisfaction as Foxtrot and Stormkit gobbled them up. It seemed to make them happier with every bite. " Finally!" Oceankit said cheerfully. " Now can we play moss-ball?" "Yes!" Calikit and Stormkit cheered. "I'll go find moss." Calikit offered, racing outside. She spot a moss-ball and picked it up between her teeth. As she padded back to the nursery, she felt a pelt brush hers. She looked around, confused. No one was in the clearing.  Starry golden fur brushed past her. Chirpkit!!! Chirpkits' sweet voice whispered into her ears. "Thank you." Chirpkit murmered. " Have fun." Her scent disappeared, and her golden fur was nowhere in sight. " I love you, Chirpkit." Calikit whispered, and headed for the nursery.
