Calikit awoke damp and slightly cold. Yesterdays events flooded pack to her. She had a daddy? Foxtrot padded into the nursery, a mouse dangling from her jaws. Calikit leaped up. "Why is daddy mean? Is he really daddy?" She demanded. Stormkit stopped chatting with Chirpkit, ears perked. "We have a daddy?"  He mewed. "We have a MEAN daddy?" Chirpkit exclaimed. Foxtrot dropped the mouse and sighed. "I suppose I have to tell you." She mewed sadly. "Tell us what?" The siblings demanded. Foxtrot sat down. Oceankit bounded up. " I want to hear to!" Oceankit delcared. Her mother, Hearttuft  picked her up. "This is not a tale for you to hear." She murmered through blue-gray fur. Soon, the nursery was empty. " Your father and I are no longer mates." Foxtrot began slowly. Calikit gasped. She no longer had a daddy? Even though she DID??? "Why not?" she asked. " Is it because he nearly drowned me?" Foxtrot shook her head. "No." She answered. "You see, when Acornpelt, your daddy, found out i was expecting kits, he wanted to give them to StormClan, in exchange for peace. StormClan wanted to use you to teach killing bites for fights against rogues. You would have DIED.  I refused, and now he wants to KILL you guys." She teared up." My precious babies, I'd never let you go!" Calikit pressed herelf soothingly at her mothers side. "We will always be right here, mommy." She assured Foxtrot. Just then,  a tuft of blue-gray fur flashed at the edge of the nursery. "Oceankit?" Calikit asked, suprised. Oceankit padded out of the shadows,  eyes wide. "Your-your father hates you?" Oceankit cried. Calikit looked down at her paws, ashamed. "Yes, yes he does."
