Calikit awaked, yawning. Moss-ball had worn her out! But now she felt like an endless tunnel of energy. She nudged Stormkit, who had feel asleep beside her. "Hrmp- what?" He moaned tiredly. "Let's see if Oceankit will play moss-ball... or maybe even a new game!" He sat up, suddenly alert. "Fine, fine." He mumbled, but Calikit knew he was wide awake by the faint glimmer in his eye. "You get Chirpkit, I'll get Oceankit." Chirpkit was just behind Foxtrot, snuggled and deep in sleep. Calikit rolled her eyes. "We'll need a stampede of badgers to wake her up!" Calikit recalled the huge deadly black and white creatures Oceankit had told them about just before they went to bed. Calikit stealthily creeped around her snoozing mother and waked Chirpkit. "Did you have to?" Chirpkit moaned. " I was having a dream that i was fighting a badger single-pawed-" " We are going to play moss-ball, but if you don't want to, you can stay her, with Shallowkit." She flicked her tail to where the black and white ball of fur lay. "Not with him!" Chirpkit cried dramatically. Calikit giggled. " Hearttuft needs to change his name to Badgerkit." Chirpkit looked at her. " By personality or looks?" She chirped. "Both!" She giggled. "Let's go! Oceankit and Stormkit are waiting for us on the other side of the nursery." Calikit crepped past Bowflare, who was sound asleep, her belly round. Foxtrot said she would give birth any day now.  She past her and met Oceankit and Stormkit. "There are no leaves or moss balls in the nursery!"  Oceankit mewed. "Let's go outside! It's about dawn, so there will be light!" Calikit shuddered. Last time she wandered out in the camp, Acornpelt nearly drowned her. Stormkit caught her eye and understood her fear. "Daddy most likely will not be up at this time." He reassured her. "And he wouldn't dare try to take one of us with all of us here." "Fine." Calikit sighed, padding outside the nursery. Moonlight flooded into the camp, and no cat stirred. Oceankit disappeared, the reappeared a moment later with a leaf dangling from her jaws. She dropped it on the ground. " I'll teach you how to play leaf-pounce." Oceankit declared. "You start by-" She was interrupted by a screech of pain from the nursery. Oceankit whipped around. "That sounded like Bowflare!" She said terrified. Her screech echoed again. The camp stirred, alert and scared. Tansytail, the medicine cat that saved her life, ran to the nursery. "Make way!" She yowled to the warriors filling the clearing. "Bowflares' kits are coming!"
