Oceankit looked at her, eyes full of sympathy.  "I'm so sorry." She uttered. " I realize i'm so lucky, to have a father who loves me." Her mother, Hearttuft, raced through the bramble entrance. 'Oceankit!" She scolded. "Can you not see this is an important time for them! You are in so much trouble! I'll, I'll-" Hearttuft sighed. " I don't know what to do with you!" Foxtrot purred. "It's fine, and I think she realized family is something to value." Oceankit nodded quickly. Hearttuft looked at her. "Well, I suppose if she hasn't done any harm...." She shook her head. "Ok. But if I catch you snooping somewhere where you don't belong, I'll tell Tawnystar to post-phone your apprentice ceromony." Oceankit stared at her, eyes wide. "Oh no! Please don't!" She begged. "Who is Tawnystar?" Calikit asked. "The leader, of course! Don't you know anything?" A voice sniffed. Calikit peered behind Oceankit and saw Shallowkit, nose high. "Oh, as if you are anything better!" Calikit snarled. Shallowkit looked suprised. "O-o-ok." He whimpered, then slumped into the shadows. Oceankit giggled. "He'll snap at you, but if you snap back, he'll whimper like a kit whose lost his mother!" Hearttuft looked at them sternly. "Now, all of you be nice." She mewed. "Fine." Oceankit grumped, but her eyes still glittered with amusement. "Hey, want to play moss-ball?" She asked Calikit, eyeing a ball of moss laying on the floor. Stormkit and Chirpkit bolted up. "We want to play ball-moss to!" Stormkit demanded. Oceankit laughed. "Ok, ok! I'll teach you all. Come on!" She bounded over to the ball, and Calikit raced after her. This was a life a kit should have. She didn't need a daddy! Still, she couldn't shake away a small prick of sadness as she caught up with Oceankit. ' Am I not good enough?' She thought in despair. 'Is that why daddy hates me?'
