Chapter 25: Simple yet Sweet

There was just a few days left until the qualifiers for the Spring Tournament starts. It actually starts next week and Haru is quite surprised at how chill everything was. And Haru can not be anymore happier. She would rather have a chill atmosphere than a heavy one especially weeks prior to the qualifiers.

Haru also noticed that almost everything was back to normal. Like, Toshi wasn't in his own world anymore, he wouldn't extend his training hours and he wouldn't also train alone. What he would do is when he noticed that Haru had finished, he'll also finish his too.

Haru also noticed that Toshi calls her by a pet name where she was so shocked when she had first heard it.

"Babe." Haru squealed when she heard Toshi call her that. She didn't thought that it was cringe-y at all, what she actually thought was how hot it sounds as it rolls out of his tongue.

"Ahhh I love it when you call me that." Haru said as she pouted. "It puts dozens of butterflies in my stomach." Wakatoshi just chuckled before wiping Haru's sweat with his towel. All of the teams were currently in the gym doing some individual training. Haru was practicing her serves with Zumi receiving while Wakatoshi was practicing his receives with Tsutomu who was practicing his serves.

"Here." Wakatoshi said as he passed Haru her water bottle. "You look like you're about to pass out from dehydration."

"Thanks." Haru smiled sweetly at him as she took a huge gulp from the bottle. Phew, she didn't know she was that thirsty at all. After she drank, she offered him some water but he just declined and said, "It's fine, I've already drank from that."

Haru choked from the water at what he just said. He drank from this? That's almost an indirect kiss! Don't get them wrong they've already shared some kisses here and there but those were just kisses on the cheek. The couple hadn't really shared a kiss on the lips yet even though it has been a few months since they've started dating.

"You okay?" Wakatoshi had asked. Haru just gave him a pointed look before smiling awkwardly. "Yeah, I'm fine. Went down the wrong pipe, that's all."

"Haru." Wakatoshi called her. "I was wondering if you want to go out of campus and, you know, eat with me?"

Haru could only blink back at him since the boy really was not the one who usually initiate such things.

"I just want to get back at rejecting you from last time, you know, when we last fought." Wakatoshi continued which was slowly becoming a ramble of nonsense words, his hand starting to scratch the back of his head due to how awkward he was.

"Breathe, love," Haru chuckled. "Of course, I'll go with you. Who else would go with you?" Haru joked.

Wakatoshi had sighed in relief before asking, "The ramen bar across campus? After training?"

Haru smiled widely before nodding excitedly. "Anywhere is fine as long as I'm with you." The girl took a step forward before wrapping her arms around the boy who was now slowly getting flustered at how bold his girlfriend was being. Despite being flustered, Wakatoshi still wrapped his arms as well around his small girlfriend.

"Oy!" Someone had shouted before a towel was harshly thrown at the couple. The towel fell on the ground as the couple looked up to see where it came from. In the direction where the towel came from stood Aki, Zumi, Semi, and Tendou with a look of disgust printed on their faces.

"Will you two stop!?" Aki groaned, "Not everyone here has a relationship, you know?"

"Well maybe if you and Semi finally get together, than maybe just maybe you'll also be in a relationship." Haru retorted back in a teasing manner as Zumi and Tendou choked back their laughter. Poor Semi was flustered red while Aki could only huff in annoyance but still the girl was also flustered. The two couldn't even glance at one another!
