Monday Evening
Moment of honesty
Someone's gotta take the lead tonight
Whose it gonna be?
I'm gonna sit right here
And tell you all that comes to me
If you have something to say
You should say it right nowI close my eyes and let my body react to the music naturally. Dr Carter's taught me to channel my emotions through dance. I haven't done this in a while.
When I get some time to myself, I put on a song that makes me think deeply and let my body speak the lyrics through dance.
At first I felt dumb, but the more I do it, I feel free? It's like a whole load is lifted off. I get everything off of my chest simply by moving my body.
Everyone's downstairs, besides Danielle who's gone to Church for some event. I left them so I could have some time to myself, we're literally always together.
I was wondering maybe
Could I make you my baby
If we do the unthinkable would it make us look crazy
If you ask me I'm ready
(I'm ready, I'm ready)
If you ask me I'm ready
(I'm ready, I'm ready)I'm defo not ready LOL but this instrumental is lit for contemporary dance so mind ya business x
The weekend was pretty chill. As usual, the mandem alternated so that a few of them are with us at a time. We've met more people from RB too, when all our boys have 'business' to do, they get some of their boys to stay with us instead. I don't mind to be honest, I actually feel safer with them around. If my boys trust them, so do I. They don't trust many people.
I prance and glide across the room. Lol I really must think I'm Andy from Step Up.
Adrenaline stirs in my stomach and I smile as I dance freely. I feel like nothing in the world can stop me right now.
You give me a feeling that I never felt before
And I deserve it, I think I-I'm startled by Zanisha standing in the doorway. My eyes have been closed so I didn't even notice my surroundings. As far as I've been concerned, I'm in the Maldives.
I nervously sit down on my bed and take my headphones off. "Hey girl, erm, why didn't you knock?"
She kisses her teeth "I did bitch you didn't answer!"
I nod shyly.
"Wahgwan?" She asks.
I shrug. "Just chilling init, you good?"
"Yeah... are you? That shit was pretty cool by the way."
I fiddle with my hair. "Erm, thanks, yeah I'm just chilling, just dancing about I guess."
First time I've been caught. Should've locked my door. She's gonna think I'm weird lol.
"Nah nah I saw your face. It meant something, the dance moves. It's almost like you were telling a story. I can't even explain it."
I chuckle nervously.
She raises an eyebrow.
"What?"
She closes the door and sits next to me.
"Shants and J are coming upstairs soon. We're gonna have a chat."
