I woke up to the sunrays shining, through the window.

For the first time ever, the curtains to the window was opened. I stir in my sleep & shifted slightly, only to find a pair of arms  wrapped firmly yet, gently around me.

I turned my head up and saw him smiling at me, softly.

I was almost sleeping over him and yet felt, most comfortable I've felt in a while. I tried to sit up & felt a little light headed, as he made me, sit beside him. And i realized, for the first time in forever...

I had somebody to wake upto.

He didn't leave my side when I woke up. Exactly opposite of Priscilla, when I first slept with her or with Sasha, when I spent the night at his house drunk.

We sat their in silence, as he kept looking out the window on my side. A soft smile, still evident on his face.

I fidgeted around, as the events of last night reminded me of the incomplete explanation, I gave him about. I had to apologize. I had to clear my point but, all of it brought me to a place where I couldn't get the image of him, kneeling in front of me, as his eyes glistening, out of my head.

That was the most vulnerable I ever saw him. Or maybe I saw my reflection in his eyes. I didn't need to decide the right answer but, I still had to apologize.

I shifted uncomfortably on my place as, I  gathered enough courage & right words, to talk to him.

"A-abou-ut l-ast-t night. Dr. I-" I stuttered, in my morning voice with a dry throat, as he cut me off.

"Hold on." He said and turned to bring a bottle, from the night stand towards me.
I never kept it their. Or any bottle in this room, for that matter. "Drink it." He said and handed me the bottle.

I hesitantly took the bottle from his hand, my fingers brushing his ever so slightly but, he didn't seem to take any action to avoid it. I drank an ample amount of water and tried to speak again when, he spoke once again.

"About last night. I'll talk to you about it, once you get fresh, bathed and head down for breakfast." He smiled at me, looking straight in my eyes, searching for a hint of discomfort or hesitation. When he didn't found anything except confusion, he asked. "Okay?"

And I just nodded.

"Good." He smiled. "Now, get going. I've already heated up the water for you & I'll be making omelet & sandwichs." He said, getting up from the bed.

He didn't turn away unless, I nodded in approval.

"Okay." And with that, he got out the room.

I sighed deeply and took out a new pair of clothes. I got into the bathroom & looked myself in the mirror.

Swollen red eyes. Puffy cheeks.
I looked absolutely destroyed.

I sighed again and reached out to take my brush when, I noticed something.

The razor was missing.

-----

I descended the stairs, bathed & freshed, when the smell of delicious omelet hit my nose. And I remembered I didn't have any dinner last night.

But, so didn't he.

I went up to him and sat on the high chair, over the counter.

He turned slightly sensing my presence and smiled at me. He placed the omelet on the dish and arranged a few sandwichs on the side. He turned around with 2 plates in his hand and smiled at me.
