Trevor

I woke up, to the bright morning lights, falling over my face. It feels good, to be home. I got out of the bed and started my making my way towards the dining.

"Good morning dad, mom." I said and went to hug both of them.

"Good morning big boy." Dad said, teasingly like always.

"Why don't you brush first and then, come to breakfast?" Mom asked.

"Yeah. I'll just call Kevin and make sure, Vanessa gets ready, in time." I told them, typing on to my phone.

I've left her at Kevin's home, yesterday. I wanted her to stay the night. I know, she has a lot, to catch upon with her best friends. And I know, they'll keep her safe as well. But, today I want her to have lunch with my parents. I don't know why but, I really want my parents to meet her and know, how amazing she is. Inside out.

The mere thoughts of her, split my face into a dreamy smile.

I looked briefly at mom and found, her sharing a look with dad. I turned to look at Dad and he mirrored the same expression with a soft smile.

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Well... It looks like, she's more than a good friend and definitely, more than a patient." Dad stated, winking at me.

And I was dumbfounded.

"Dad... I just want her to feel at home. I've already told you, she doesn't have parents. And she's been through alot but, she still smiles like, nothing has ever happened to her. Actually, it's almost motivating, to see her going on and I just want her to have, what she deserves. She's such a pure soul, very rare to find and she's very thoughtful as well. She's filled with gratitude and I just...." I kept on babbling as, mom cut me off.

"Dear." Mom said, keeping her hand over my shoulder, to gain my attention. "She seems wonderful." She smiled at me.

"Huh?" I asked, almost in a trance.

"The way you speak about her, she seems wonderful." Mom smiled and this time the look in her eyes, made sense to me.

And their, I sat.

In front of my family, my cheeks covered in a Scarlett colour, as I thought about you.

-----

"Hello Mrs. Klein, I'm Vanessa. Nice to mee-" and even before she could complete her pleasantries, mom engulfed her in a tight hug.

"Oh dear, I'm so happy meeting you." She finally released the poor thing. "I've heard so much about you." She said, looking back at me. And in that moment and wanted to face palm myself. And I looked at dad, smirking at me. Oh god!

"Huh?" She mumbled confused.

"Oh and this is my husband, Carlos." Mom introduced dad. Vanessa smiled at him nodding. And dad returned the gesture. Thank God, he wasn't as obvious as mom.

"Oh please, come on in dear. Make yourself home." Mom said, pulling her inside and I'm sure, Vanessa was confused just like me.

"Here, I brought you some flowers." Vanessa said, giving away the beautiful orchids, she specifically brought for mom, on our way here.

"Oh, thank you dear." Mom smiled, patting her cheek.

All of us sat on the dining table and mom started serving and Vanessa asked, if she could help. And by now, I already knew, mom was impressed by her manners. All of us settled and finally started eating.

My parents tried their best to engage in conversation, trying their best not to touch any sensitive topic as, I already told them, not to. But, I didn't know the conversation would only be about me and some of my most embarrassing details, from childhood.

But, I wasn't as offended, this time. Since, all those embarrassing moments, brought a smile over her lips.

A very beautiful smile.

"You know, you're the first girl Trevor has ever brought home." Mom told her and her eyes widened, as she looked at me. "So I figured already, that you'd be special. And I was right indeed." Mom added, keeping a loving hand over dad's.

"We were right darling." Dad said, looking at mom and they gave each other the same dreamy look, they always shared.

But, when I slightly turned to look at Vanessa, she was already glancing at me and had a pink tint over her cheeks. And I bet the scene for my parents, was very entertaining since, now we're both blushing.

Finally the lunch was over and we were leaving.

"Thank you for the lovely lunch, Mrs. Klein." She nodded, in gratitude. "And thank you, for having me over." She said, thanking dad.

"The pleasure was ours darling." Dad smiled at her softly. "Make sure to visit often." Mom told her and both of them waved at us.

Vanessa waved back and got into the car. I started driving away and she finally spoke.

"Kevin's place, is the other way around." She spoke, gesturing towards the road.

"I know." I said, nodding. "I'm taking you somewhere else."  I said and kept on driving.

After a few minutes I stopped in front of the cemetery and looked at her. Her eyes filled with tears and realization. She just looked at me and I gestured her, understandingly.

Swiftly, she got off the car and made her way through the graves. I got down from the car with the flowers, I brought secretly when, she was buying one for my mom.

I made my way over to her and found her on her knees, crying her heart out, in front of a tombstone.

It pained me, to see her like this and so, I kneeled to her level and wrapped a hand around her shoulder. She leaned into me and cried her heart out. It was her mother's grave.

After around a minute, she composed herself and spoke to me.

"You brought these?" She asked, gesturing towards the flowers, in my hand. I nodded at her with a sad smile and replied.

"I wanted to give flowers, to your mom as well." And she hugged me, crying again over my shoulder.

"Thank you." She mumbled, over my shoulder and I held her their. Trying my best, to comfort her.

I kept the bunch of flowers, over her mom's grave and took out two, white roses out of them.

I gave one to her and she understood me, without exchanging a single word. We both made our way over to another grave and kept both of our flowers their.

As we stood their, in front of her dad's grave. I held her hand since, she was trembling.

After a few minutes we made our way, out of the cemetery and reached the car. Before I could open the door, she held my hand and made me turn around.

"Thank you for bringing me here." She said, with glistening eyes and in that moment I wanted nothing more, than to take away her pain. But, I couldn't.

So I decided to reduce it.

I brought both of my hands to wipe away her tears and whispered to her.

"I have something that would make you feel better." I said and she looked at me in confusion.

"Here." I said, taking out my phone and showing her a contact number.

She looked at it and a very foreign emotion made its way through her face, that hurt me physically.

"Sasha?"
