I LIKE ME BETTER- Lauv
Ginny POV:
I saw that something was up with Harry. After last year's battle at the ministry and everything that's happened until now, I know Harry. And I was glad to say I did. I saw him deep in thought about whether or not he should tell me whatever he was thinking about. I knew that if he told Hermione she would be against it if it was a theory of some sort, but I wondered if it was something else more serious.
"Harry?" I asked him softly, seeing that he was deep in thought again.
"It's just- No. It's fine. You won't believe me anyway." He said nodding.
"Harry. You're talking to me, not to Hermione." I said smiling.
He lifted his head and gave me a little smile which made my heart flutter. No- stop it, Ginny.
"And I'll always believe you," I said leaving forwards in my seat.
"Well, since the prophecy was destroyed," he started.
"Then maybe Voldemort still wants to know what it says, you know? Maybe he'll search out the person who wrote the prophecy, and make them recite it." He said carefully.
"But he can't just come barging into Hogwarts I mean it's-" I gasped.
Of course, Harry would think that. Malfoy or Snape. I had to say, they definitely might have something to do with it, but surely he didn't want to go around accusing people.
"Exactly Ginny." He said looking at me.
I stared at him and thought. Surely V- Voldemort, wouldn't be obsessing over a stupid little prophecy, he wouldn't waste his time on that. It didn't make sense.
"Harry," I started.
"Don't you think it's absurd for him to be obsessed over a prophecy? Even if it tells him how to k-" I gulped.
"how to beat you," I continued.
"He surely wouldn't search out Professor Trelawney?" I asked.
"I know it sounds stupid but-" he started.
"No Harry it's not stupid," I said immediately regretting that I didn't agree with him in the first place.
"I definitely would keep Malfoy and Snape in sight, but I don't think Voldemort wants help from an old Hogwarts Professor," I said calmly.
"Something is off, but he wouldn't dare enter Hogwarts, and I don't think he would make Malfoy ask a professor about a prophecy. Besides, do they even remember the prophecy after they predict it?" I asked.
"I don't know, but I need to keep an eye out for Malfoy, especially since his dad was the obvious death eater that attacked us. Who knows what he's up to." He said.
"Did I tell you that Ron, Hermione, and I saw him go into Borgin and Burke's?" He asked.
"No. Where is that?" I asked curiously.
"I forgot about it myself. It's in Knockturn Alley, where I accidentally turned up in my second year." He said.
"Oh yeah," I said remembering.
"What do you think he was doing there?" I asked once again even more curiously.
"I don't know, but as Ron said, they looked like they didn't want to be followed." He said deep in thought.
I knew there were dark artifacts in Borgin and Burkes, but I didn't know what Malfoy would be doing there. I was keeping this information in a safe place in my mind, ready to pull it out, anytime I saw anything suspicious related to Malfoy or maybe Snape. I hoped Harry wasn't too in over his head about this though. I knew how much time thinking deep in thought would take up, and he was supposed to be- what? He was supposed to be what? Actually, all he had to do was go through the year right? Keep it a safe year. No battles, no deaths, or many injuries. Safe Quidditch games? Rarely. Huh. It was never a normal year with Harry Potter I guess.
"ANYTHING FROM THE TROLLEY?" Yelled the lady who was pushing the cart.
My stomach hurled at the sound of sweets. I ate so much breakfast in the morning that I couldn't fit in anything else. Besides, we had a huge feast when we arrived at school.
"No thank you. Breakfast was big and I can't fit in another thing." I said placing my hand over my stomach.
Harry made his way out to the trolley, and I saw him glance around suspiciously. He got a few chocolate frogs and came back inside.
"Want a chocolate frog?" He asked.
He had about 5 or 6 of them next to him.
"You really like those don't you?" I said grinning.
"No thanks. Mum filled me up this morning and I literally can't breathe." I said.
He nodded and soon we both drifted back into our thoughts. I wonder how much more we have to go. I have to change. Uhh. I have to change. I had to get up, find my trunk, dig through it to get my robes, and put the bloody things on. Uhh. Isn't there some sort of spell to just immediately get dressed? Well if there was a spell for everything then that wouldn't be- the compartment door swung open. I immediately pulled out my wand and pointed it at- Hermione?
"Merlin Hermione, couldn't you at least let me know you were coming in before you slam the door open?" I said storing my wand back in my pocket.
"I did. I knocked. I waved. Ronald even danced around to see if he could get your attention!" She exclaimed laughing as Ron entered behind her.
"Both lost in thought." Ron said as he slid the door shut.
"Well yeah." Said Harry uncertainly.
"And why did you two run off together leaving us alone, with no other explanation, at least a simple goodbye-" I started, but Hermione interrupted me.
"We did." She said looking at us worriedly as she sat next to me, and Ron next to Harry.
"Both lost it thought." Ron repeated.
Hermione and Ron laughed, but Harry and I were still confused.
"Do we really-" I started asking Harry.
"How many words did you exchange in the 2 hours that you were both in here?" Said Ron, interrupting me.
"2 HOURS?!" Harry and I spat out at the same time.
"Bloody Hell you two. Calm down." Said Ron.
"How did we- when did- how?" Stuttered Harry.
"We talked like twice in two hours, alone in a bloody compartment?" I exclaimed.
Ron's eyes widened awkwardly and he gave Hermione a look, but she was staring out of the window.
"Hermione?" Said Ron.
"Huh- what?" She said snapping out of her thoughts.
"What the bloody hell is going on?" Yelled Ron.
"Just thinking." She said softly, before she started laughing.
We all laughed for a minute and soon the laughter died down.
"It's really changed us." Hermione said.
"We're always thinking of ways to fight and- so on. Which is good. The more you think, the smarter you are." She said smiling at Harry.
"I guess so." Said Harry, but I could tell he felt guilty. Guilty of bringing all of us into this, even though we entered by ourselves. I knew him too well, but I decided to let it be, as I saw the beautiful castle in view, and Harry and I weren't changed yet. Uhh.
