HEATHENS- Twenty-one Pilots
SIRIUS POV:
It was the day after the kids had all left to Hogwarts, and currently, Remus was the only one here. He came over for breakfast and now we were waiting for the coffee to brew.
"So," I started, smirking.
"How's it going with Tonksie?" I asked, with a curious smirk on my face.
He looked taken aback.
"It's not going, It was never going, and nor will it ever, GO." He said, staring at me.
"Oh but why not Remus?" I whined.
"You know very well why, and it's just not possible. And most importantly, it's not safe." He started.
"You and your safety," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Yes, me and my safety." He replied.
"Oh but wHy?" I exclaimed.
"Because of Hedwig." He said, staring behind me.
"Because of who?!" I exclaimed, oblivious to the snowy owl that had just entered the room.
Moony grinned and was about to turn around when I felt talons on my shoulder.
"Hedwig." I moaned in realization as Moony laughed, pouring me coffee.
I took the rolled-up parchment attached to the owl's leg, and she soon took off, back to Harry, back to my godson. I opened the letter to find all too familiar writing, as Remus gave me a cup of coffee.
Dear Sirius,
Not much has happened since yesterday when we arrived except I almost took the train back to London when I was petrified under my invisibility cloak.
I spit out the coffee in my mouth and gasped.
"What?" Said Moony, who was staring at me weirdly and pouring himself a coffee.
"Harry got petrified under the cloak!" I yelled.
"What?!" He exclaimed, sitting next to me.
"Where is he? What happened? Is he okay?" He started.
"Well seeing that he sent me a letter about it then he's probably okay," I responded, taking another sip of my coffee.
"Well read the rest of it!" He snapped, staring at me.
"Okay okay! Geesh Moony." I said, pulling up the letter again.
I went to spy on Malfoy but didn't find out anything except that he was dreading school, and how it was a pathetic excuse for an educational system. Anyways, Ginny found me right before the train took off, as Ron and Hermione had gone with the prefects. After that, we rode our trunks-
I spit out my coffee again.
"Goodness Sirius!" Remus exclaimed, vanishing the coffee.
"He rode a trunk," I said, lost in thought.
"Rode a what?" Moony asked me, obviously confused.
"A trunk," I responded casually.
"How?!" He yelled.
"I don't know!" I exclaimed.
"Oh give me the bloody letter!" He yelled, yanking the letter from my hands.
"After that, we rode our trunks to the castle's front gates by levitating them- honestly I'm not even a hundred percent sure how we did it but we made it back safely. Oh. Malfoy also kicked me in the nose after he petrified me, did I mention that? Anyways, Professor Flitwick fixed it when we arrived at the front gates. They're searching everyone and all the trunks now. They're keeping a list of students who enter castle grounds and aren't taking many exceptions. I don't know what to expect from this year. Dumbledore's made Snape Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher which I don't know if- "
"Snape?!" I interrupted Remus.
"Well I already sort of- knew that but- okay go on," I said, seeing his annoyed expression.
"I don't know if it's such a good idea but maybe the position really is jinxed. Ron said- Hermione just shoved me. All of the teachers in the past 6 years- sorry Moony- all left, so why wouldn't Snape- ow. Okay fine everyone can think what they want to think. I was just putting that out there. I'm trying to keep my friends close as you said, and we always stay close whenever we can. I don't know what's going to happen this year, but something will happen. I'm not sure what- but it will. We're about to head down to our first class, Defense. Can't wait to see you and everyone again. Hermione just pointed out that neither Ron nor I haven't got out our books so I'll owl you again soon. Hope to hear back.
Harry."
He finished.
"Well, he had a bloody adventurous first hour at Hogwarts!" I exclaimed.
"It's funny I felt like I was reading a letter straight from James while I was reading this one," Remus said, carefully placing the letter on the table.
"Always needing adventure," I said sadly, remembering the good times with James.
"Staying close to his friends as you said?" He started, eyeing me.
"That's why you two were minutes late to the station." He said.
"You can't prove anything," I said, turning away from him and crossing my arms.
"This feels so weird without James, and I hate to say it, but without Peter," Remus said sadly, watching me.
"Mostly James," I said sadly.
Remus sighed and changed the subject.
"I agree with Harry when he said that something would happen this year. He's planning something else or he sent someone to do something, but it's certainly not Draco." He said.
"And why wouldn't it be?" I snapped at him.
"He's just a child. You-know-who wouldn't put him up to it." He said, staring at me.
"Harry is a child!" I exclaimed.
"What do you mean he's just a child? Harry's the same age and had been through more than he has." I continued, snapping back at him.
"I'm not saying Draco wouldn't be recruited Sirius, but there's no proof, and false accusations aren't a good thing to have on anyone's record." He said.
"I'm not accusing anyone, but keeping an eye on him isn't anything bad," I said, looking for a pen and a piece of parchment to reply to Harry.
"Careful what you write. Letters are starting to be checked by the ministry do be careful." He said watching me scurry around.
"Yes yes, I know," I said, grabbing the parchment and pen that I had just found.
I sat back down at the table and started to write.
Harry,
I agree with you that something will happen this year, but try to not get too much attention, because, in the words of Moony, false accusations aren't a good thing to have in anyone's record. All the while, keep an eye on the ferret and don't forget about his head of house. Again, be careful what you write to anyone using owls. You're lucky that Ginny found you on the train, and I think you know very well just how lucky, so stay safe, and don't forget to let me know if anything happens. You should also teach me that trunk ride soon, it may come in useful. Stay close to your true friends and please be careful.
P.S. I'm not sure whether I'm Snuffles or Padfoot now. Make sure to let me know.
P. P. S. never mind I'm definitely Padfoot.
Padfoot.
