"Did anyone see you come in?"

"No, I was careful."

Taehyung smiles as Jeongguk wraps his arms around his waist. Letting him him press a kiss to the corner of his mouth.

"Is this real?" Taehyung asks, closing his eyes as he wraps his arms around Jeongguk's neck. "Are you real?"

"Of course I'm real." Jeongguk says, pulling away and looking Taehyung in the eye. "Would I be able to touch you if I weren't real? Would I be able to hold you like this?"

Taehyung smiles, laying his head in the crook of Jeongguk's neck. "I'm so happy you came back. I thought I lost you forever."

"You'll never lose me. I love you."

"I love you too," The ravenette says—the blond haven grown out of his hair since being in hospital. "I'm sorry I ruined everything."

"You didn't. I was a jerk for leaving," Jeongguk says quickly. "I know not to do that again. Ever. I can't risk losing you."

Taehyung sighs, pulling away from the hug to look at Jeongguk. He was almost afraid he'd forgotten how beautiful he was.

"I hate doing this, y'know," He says, pulling Taehyung to the bed. "Sneaking into this house. Having to wait until everyone's out or too busy."

"I hate it too. My mother's been more overbearing than usual since I've been back." Taehyung sighs. "She doesn't want me to try to hurt myself again."

"Well, she doesn't have to worry about that. Because I'm here now. And I'm not going anywhere." Jeongguk sits down facing Taehyung. "Tell her that you're fine. And that you want to go back to living on your own."

"She'll never let me."

"She will. You just have to convince her that you're okay now," Jeongguk says, taking Taehyung's hands. "Which you are. Since I'm here."

"You think she'll let me?" Taehyung asks skeptically. "After everything?"

"Yeah. You'll just have to show her you're okay," Jeongguk says, shrugging as if it'd be easy.

"Taehyung, dinner!"

Taehyung sighs, looking at Jeongguk with a small smile. "I'll try."

"Okay."

"Don't make any noise when you leave."

Over the next two weeks Taehyung goes out of his way to convince his mother that he's alright to live on his own.

He puts on a cheerful face whenever she's around and he helps out a lot around the house. He takes care of himself and he makes sure that he's the optimal picture of good mental health.

His request to move back on campus comes as a surprise to his mother. Especially after the events that took place in the apartment the last time that he was there.

"You want to go back? Really?" She asks tilting her head in confusion.

"Do you think that's a good idea, Taehyung?" His step dad asks with the same expression on his face.

"I think it's a great idea." Taehyung chuckles. "You don't?"

"It's just that...it hasn't been long since you've gotten back from hospital," Mrs. Kim says. "Are you sure you want to be on your own?"

"I think it's time for my life to return to some state of normalcy," Taehyung says, flicking his overgrown hair out of his eyes. "And I think going back to school is the first step."

"It worries me, that's all," His mother says, looking at her husband. "What do you think?"

"I think it'd be best to finish out the rest of the year here. Then return to your apartment in the fall," Mr. Kim says. "It's a little too soon."

"I think it should be my decision. I am an adult, after all," Taehyung says. "I'm doing a lot better. Can't you tell?"

"You are doing better, Taehyung. But I'm still worried about what happened before," Mrs. Kim says. "How do I know you're not having those thoughts again."

"I'm not, mom. I've accepted my illness since then," Taehyung insists. "I'm more aware of what's real and what's not. Especially now that I'm on medication."

Mrs. Kim sighs, still extremely reluctant to agree to him going back to school. "Why can't you just finish here?"

"I'm doing better. Nothing bad is going to happen while I'm away," Taehyung promises. "You can send Seokjin to check on me everyday if you want to...well, maybe not everyday. But whenever you want."

"You'll take care of yourself?"

"I swear. And I'll call you."

Mrs. Kim sighs as she wipes the tears that were forming in her eyes. "I guess it's okay then. Only if your dad agrees."

"Whatever you say, honey. Whatever you think is best," His step father says, though something about his tone is still not one hundred percent onboard.

"We can move you in whenever you're ready, then," His mother says with teary eyes. "Just make sure you call."

"I'll call. I swear." Taehyung smiles, standing and kissing his mother on the cheek before going to his room. He grabs his phone and immediately texts Jeongguk with the great news.

They were finally going to be together again.

"Is this real?"

"Stop asking me that."

Taehyung laughs as he hugs Jeongguk. "Finally. We can be alone. And we don't have to worry about anything or anyone."

"How'd you get your mom to agree?" Jeongguk asks, pulling away after kissing the side of Taehyung's head.

"Seokjin's gotta check on me every week," Taehyung says. "It sucks, but we'll be alone most of the time."

"Right." Jeongguk smiles, kissing Taehyung's forehead. "Let's lay down."

"Why?" Taehyung chuckles as Jeongguk pulls him to the bed. "You always want to sleep."

"You're beautiful when you're sleeping," Jeongguk says, laying down with him. "Even more beautiful than when you're awake."

"Thanks," Taehyung says, rolling his eyes. He sighs as he relaxes into Jeongguk's embrace. "I lost all our progress when I went to hospital. I'm nowhere near perfect anymore."

"That's okay. We'll just have to start over," Jeongguk says, stroking Taehyung's hair. "Go to sleep for now. I'll be right here when you wake up. I'll always be right here."

Taehyung smiles as his eyes become heavy with sleep. Letting them fall shut as he lays in Jeongguk's arms.

As he's falling asleep he's hit with a thought that he never had before. A question that he only ever thought about once.

Why doesn't Jeongguk change his clothes?

He can't recall the brunette ever dressing in anything other than the sweater vest he was currently wearing. He can't remember a time where he wasn't dressed this way.

He wants to stay up and question it but he's too tired to try to fight his sleep.

So he gives in.
