Taehyung walks into the library at his usual time the next day, a smile tugging at his lips when he sees Jeongguk sitting there without his earbuds in for a change.

    "Hey," He says, putting his books down as he sits.

    "Hey." Jeongguk smiles, looking away from his computer.

    "How'd things go last night?" Taehyung asks as he pulls his laptop from his backpack.

    "Fine. He apologized." The brunette shrugs. "I just wanted to say thank you again for last night. A-And not only for driving me home but for listening as well."

"I'm glad I could help," The older says, genuinely.

"I'm not really supposed to make friends but I felt like we were friends last night." Jeongguk looks down as if he was embarrassed.

Taehyung smiles softly. "I wish we could be friends."

Jeongguk looks up at him and falls silent for a moment. "Would you want to go for a walk with me? Somewhere off campus?"

Taehyung must look confused, because Jeongguk continues quickly.

"I only say off campus because Jimin has classes now and if we walked around here he'd see us," He says. "We could be friends in secret for a while."

Taehyung chuckles. "Sure."

A smile overtakes Jeongguk's features and Taehyung realizes it's the first time he's seen Jeongguk really smile.

April 12th, Taehyung sees Jeongguk's bunny smile for the first time and he knows he'll never forget it.

They pack away their things and head out separately, Taehyung agreeing to meet him right at the campus gate in ten minutes.

When he gets there Jeongguk is waiting with his bag over his shoulder and a small smile on his face.

"Okay so the place we're going is where Jimin used to take me before he started making me mind my weight," The younger explains as he leads the way. "I'm calling this day 'do the opposite of everything Jimin's ever told you to do' day. Okay?"

"Okay." Taehyung laughs. "What else does this day entail."

"Besides eating things I shouldn't and hanging out without with you there's nothing I can really change right now." Jeongguk laughs. "But these two things should be enough to make me happy."

"Okay. Let's do it then," Taehyung says. It's been so long since he's smiled so much in one day.

As they're walking they somehow get on the topic of Jimin and Jeongguk's relationship.

"Nobody's perfect," Taehyung says as they walk.

"Jimin is." The brunette sighs. "He works hard to make sure he is. I think now that he's finally where he wants to be he's working on me. He used to love me the way I was."

"Have you told him that you don't want to be perfect?" Taehyung asks.

"No. I do want to be perfect, everyone wants to be perfect. It's just hard work," Jeongguk says. "When I am perfect I think I'll understand why he's so hard on me."

Jeongguk continues to speak but Taehyung can't hear him through his own thoughts, he thought Jeongguk was perfect just the way he was.

"Here we are!" Jeongguk exclaims when they get to the ice cream shop off campus. "Let's sit at the back."

Taehyung let's Jeongguk pull him inside that shop and lead him to a table in the back.

Taehyung orders a vanilla milkshake which Jeongguk finds 'extremely boring' compared to his choice of ice cream.

"So you know a little bit about my life, what about yours?" Jeongguk asks as they eat. "Do you have a partner?"

"No, I'm not very social remember?" Taehyung asks, making the younger nod.

"Who were you at the club with?" He asks, tilting his head adorably.

"My step brother and his friends. My step brother—Seokjin—likes dragging me into uncomfortable social situations for his own amusement," Taehyung explains. "I don't like clubbing."

Jeongguk chuckles. "You seem social when you're with me."

"It took me three months to even talk to you. If you hadn't stopped me at the club we probably still wouldn't be talking." Taehyung says with a slight eye roll.

"I wish you would've said something sooner," The younger says. "I would've but I always thought you didn't want to talk to me."

"Why would you assume that?" The older asks.

Jeongguk shrugs. "I thought taking your seat would initiate a conversation but then you just sat there and didn't say anything."

"You did that on purpose?" Taehyung asks in surprise.

January 12th, (correction) Jeongguk took Taehyung's seat on purpose in the hopes of speaking to him.

"I'm embarrassed now." The younger laughs covering his face. "I wanted to be your friend. Then Jimin showed up that one day and told me not to speak to you ever."

    "You look so unapproachable with your earbuds in, that's the problem," Taehyung says, trying not to let the mention of Jimin bring the mood down.

    "There were days I went without them," Jeongguk counters.

    "There wasn't a single day you did that," The older says, shaking his head as he drinks his milkshake. "You always wear them."

    "Well, today I didn't." The younger chuckles. "I'm all ears today. So tell me about yourself."

    "There's nothing to know really. I'm an open book and my life isn't interesting enough to even waste my breath telling you about it." Taehyung shrugs. "I'm boring and antisocial."

    "I like hanging out with you, Taehyung." Jeongguk smiles. "As boring as you say you are, you're making me really happy right now."

Taehyung smiles at his words. "I'm glad."

Jeongguk chuckles softly before continuing to eat his ice cream.

    "I should probably head home after this. Jimin likes when I'm there before he is," Jeongguk says after they sit in silence for a while. "Do you want to do it again soon?"

    "Yeah, sure. I'd love to." Taehyung nods.

    "Okay," He says pulling his phone out. "Your number?"

Taehyung tells him his number and his phone dings with a text message from him.

(***)***-****: it's Ggukie!!

Taehyung laughs at the message. "Okay, I got it."

    "Cool," Jeongguk says as he stands and throws his bag over his shoulder. "Text me next time you're free and we'll meet here."

    "Okay." The older nods, smiling up at him softly.

    "See you then." Jeongguk waves before leaving the ice cream shop.

Taehyung smiles to himself as he changes Jeongguk's contact to 'Ggukie' in his phone.

This was by far the happiest day of his entire college career so far.

He had a great time with Jeongguk and he couldn't wait to see him again.
