               RORY WAS TRYING TO THINK OF A WAY TO GET VAMPIRES AWAY FROM HER FAMILY, specifically her baby sister. Caroline had already left for school and Rory drove herself to work. She was doing inventory and Jenna and her had plans on getting lunch together.

It's one of those days where she didn't have much to do, besides organize and help any customers that entered. It was also a slow day, and Mrs.Adam was enjoying her time at the cash register, sitting behind a chair, catching up on some light reading. Rory insisted that she could handle inventory, and after much deliberation, the older woman gave in. Enjoying the book behind the register.

RORY AND JENNA SAT AT A TABLE AT THE MYSTIC GRILL, AS THEY WAIT FOR THEIR main lunch, they share a batch of fries. "So, how much do you know about Stefan and Damon?" Rory asks Jenna. Jenna looks at her surprised. "They hang around my sister, I need to know. Not to mention Damon is like in his mid twenties and hangs out with teenagers." Jenna looks as if she's thinking it over. "He should have friends his own age." She says making an excellent point, if she does say so herself.

"I only ever see him with Alaric besides Elena and Care." Jenna informs her, thinking of the times she's Damon. Who he has been seen with.

"I'm telling you, it's strange." Rory says making a good point.

"He's friendly with your mom." Jenna informs her and Rory nods humming a 'huh', it would be wise to be buddy buddy with the local sheriff if you're a vampire. Rory needs to look at local weird deaths and get to the bottom of it. She wouldn't have her family harmed by vampires.

"Well I don't know how you're okay with this, I'm weirded out by him being around so many teenagers." Rory tells her. She couldn't tell her the entire truth, she needed to find Sam's number, to help her take care of the vampire problem. She remembers she found out what they did, by accident. It's been years since she last spoke to Sam. Since Dean's death.

"I'm not." Jenna admits, this catches all of Rory's attention. "But Elena hangs out with Stefan, and Stefan is Damon's younger brother. And she's already had a hard year, I don't want to add to it." Jenna says and Rory thinks back to Elena's parents, their funeral.

Her heart went out the the Gilbert children. She understood the pain of losing your parents, while she had lost her fairly young, she didn't have them that long, didn't get to know her parents like Elena and Jeremy. Part of her was jealous they got that, she was jealous of people who got to know their parents.

Except for Dean's dad, she didn't feel jealousy towards the Winchesters, in fact John made her feel good about not having a dad like him, or not having one at all. While Uncle Bill was a father figure he wasn't her dad.

"You're think of your parents?" Jenna asks and she nods.

"Yeah." She admits softly. "It's hard not to." She tells her, "Your sisters death, brought up a lot of unresolved issues for me." She admits avoiding Jenna's eyes. She knew she'd break if she looked into her friends eyes. She hated feeling so powerless, Jenna nods understandingly. "Have you spoken to Diana?" Rory asks changing the subject, she clearly didn't want to indulge the parents issue for too long. Or the subject of losing people, she hated it, with every fiber in her.

"No, not really. I've been kinda busy, raising teenagers." Jenna admits, "she did send me a post card."

"That was me." Rory says giving her a small smile making Jenna laugh. "We'll we wrote it together."

"She told you what to say and you wrote with elegance?" Jenna teases her making the brunette nod laughing.

"Oh you know us so well." Rory says with a teasing smile.

"Well I've just about known you our entire lives, lived together and all." Jenna shrugs, flipping her hair back, in a whatever manner making Rory genuinely smile. "Ever think about going back to school?" Jenna asks her.

"As of now?" Rory asks and Jenna nods, "No." she shakes her head.

"Eventually." Jenna asks, she knew the talent that Rory had, she was an amazing writer. The young woman had her heart broken more times than not and still chose to see the good in people. Jenna had witnessed it.

"Eventually." Rory nods, she hadn't published anything since her last two books.

"How does it feel being back?" Jenna asks.

"Coming back feels weird." She admits to her, "I didn't think I would be back, till Care's graduation." She tells her and Jenna nods, Rory came back when Elena's parents died. Rory rarely visited her parents grave, and that day she got to visit her parents grave after the burial.

       CAROLINE HAD ONLY MEANT TO GRAB RORY'S EYELASH CURLER, AND QUICKLY EXIT her sister bedroom, till she found the book. The one with a green cover and the eyes, the title in bold gold:

In smaller gold bold letters the name:

Was written, and she smiles tracing the name. Caroline hadn't read the book yet, while she knew her sister had written and published a few books. She knew her sister didn't want her to read the books, she prohibited her from reading them and Caroline respected her boundaries. Somewhat. Bonnie had been reading it, unaware that the book was written by Rory. The books had been very popular amongst teens, and young adults.  The second book:

From what Caroline gathered the books were about death, grief, and love. Saying goodbye to those you love. She gathers that her sister had a somewhat serious relationship before writing the books, but then everything went to shit. Rory had a habit with dealing with her shit on her own. Not letting anyone in, and Caroline couldn't blame her for being that way. She had lost her parents at a young age, and then the parents that took her in got a divorce. She was strong for Caroline. Her boyfriend Mason, wasn't the best boyfriend, he was a shit boyfriend. More often than not the two would be fighting, on and off.

Night purrs next to Caroline, reminding her she's in her sisters bedroom, and she take the eyelashes curler, Night follows her and she closes the door.

"What were you doing in my room?" Rory asks her.

"Borrowing your eyelash curler, lost mine. I'll put it back." Caroline says holding it up, and Rory nods before going into her bedroom, Night follows her in. Caroline sighs in relief before heading to her bedroom.
