IN 1991, WHEN RORY WAS ONLY SIX YEARS OLD, THE FORBES FAMILY WERE HIT with a horrible tragedy, the loss of Moira and Clint Forbes. Leaving behind Rory Forbes, after a car crash ended the lives of the couple, while little Rory was over at her friends Marissa's home. Rory was completely unaware of the horrific accident that her parents had been in, as she played with her friends, until Liz and Bill picked her up, and they were her temporary guardians. Bill and Liz had to organize the funeral and the pair had to explain what happened. Liz held Rory as she cried, only understanding that her parents weren't coming home. That her family wasn't expanding at all.

Liz and Bill Forbes were to become her permanent guardians, if they declined, to be, Lorelai would go to live with Moira's sister and brother in law, Dina and Richard, in Vermont. Liz jumped at the opportunity, while Bill was a bit reserved to the idea. His marriage with Liz was still new, but Liz knew she couldn't send the little girl away. Not after losing her parents in such a tragic way. Bill and Liz knew Rory more than Moira's family, Liz and Rory had a friendship already, and Liz adored the little girl with all her heart. In Moira and Clint's will, it stated that every summers or winter breaks Rory would be in Vermont, spending it with Moira's family, and if Liz and Bill hadn't taken her the agreement would be worked vise versa. Rory inherited a hefty amount of money, and an amazing collections of books, everything that was her parents was now in her name.

Liz couldn't bring herself to sell the house, neither could Bill. Even if they didn't visit it, they kept up with maintenance. While none of the family actually visitors it for a few years, it was kept in the family.

       AFTER THE FUNERAL, RORY MOVED IN WITH LIZ AND BILL TO MYSTIC FALLS, LEAVING behind her friends and most of what she knew. Most importantly her home. Lorelai quickly made friends with Jenna Sommers, Sawyer, and Diana, the four of them became thick as thieves. Lorelai was shy at first, and the girls helped her. The first year was hard for the girl, moving to the new town, she wanted her parents, and hated being in Mystic Falls. It pledged her mind with nightmares of her parents death, until one day it suddenly stopped, she knew not to tell Bill and Liz exactly what she saw, but she just told them, she missed her parents, and there were monsters in the closets. Bill and Liz insisted that there wasn't anything.

Aunt Dina told her the bracelet and rings she gave her would protect her, and to never take it off, until she learned to manage her magic. She also gave her a journal for her to write in, and invisible ink, telling her only spies use this. It definitely helped young Rory dealt with her parents death.

When Rory was seven, Liz and Bill welcomed a daughter, Caroline Forbes. They were a happy family, Rory liked having a baby sister. Part of her was sad, she wasn't her actual sister but her cousin. Liz reassured her they were sisters, Rory was just much her daughter as Caroline is. Rory was the best sister she could be, she always told Caroline to be who she is without being apologetic, people will never be satisfied with who you are. And you should only make yourself happy. While Liz accepted fully, Bill couldn't seem to fully accept Rory, Rory felt he viewed her as just his niece.

                  RORY ALWAYS KNEW SHE WAS DIFFERENT, WITH HER BEING BISEXUAL AND being unapologetic about it. She grew with her dad telling her she was special and her mom telling her to never hide who she is. She could hear a voice saying she was a dam gift to this world, she was too young to remember who it was but she thinks it might of been her mother. She knew from an early age that she had powers, she could feel the earth, the nature, while others couldn't, and she could feel she wasn't alone, not truly alone. Her aunt Dina told her she was special, that their family came from special women, who had powers, but she couldn't just let anyone see, because people were scared of special people. Every summer or winter she went, aunt Dina taught her a few spells, and allowed her to embrace herself, encouraged her to do so.

       HIGH SCHOOL RORY, WAS A FREAKING TRAIL BLAZER, SHE OFTEN CAUSED TROUBLE but got away with it being a Forbes and all. She was captain of the cheer squad, and leadership, she a model student, she was smart and committed, she was committed until Mason Lockwood came around. The two had a very dysfunctional relationship, hot and cold one minute, it was very intense and Liz definitely didn't not approve of said relationship. She knew it was bad for Rory, and she tried to make her see it but Rory wasn't haven't it. She didn't listen to Liz or Bobs warnings. Her friends also didn't like her relationship with Mason, they were very intense and possessive of each other, definitely not a good thing during a relationship.

Mason Lockwood did care for Rory, in his own weird way, she drove him absolutely nuts, and he wanted her to be in his life. While she was making plans to leave Mystic Falls alone and never come back, he made plans to follow her to ends of the world. In his mind he really though the two were going to end up together. Mason knew how much Rory's friend didn't like him, Swayer made it well aware of her dislike to him. He disliked Swayer just as much. Jenna and him got along but it wasn't like Jenna and Rory's friendship. Diana and Rory, the two were very close and it sometimes worried him of their closeness. Diana was one of the few people to actually talk Rory out of doing the stupid crap Mason wanted to do.
