Why Won't You Love Me

     RORY MADE HIGH SCHOOL SEEM LIKE A BLAST IN CAROLINE'S EYES, RORY HAD A GREAT group of friends who would come over and get ready for games, parties and dances. It's safe to say that Caroline Forbes idolized her older sister. She would often tell Bonnie and Elena about her cool older sister, and Rory would bring Caroline to her outings, those that were appropriate to bring a child to. Mason would often drive Rory and Caroline places, when the young couple would get into arguments Mason definitely tried winning Rory over through Caroline. Or he would ask Caroline what to get or to do for Rory to forgive him and his stupidity.

Mason gave Caroline ice cream and then he asked her what he could to earn Rory's forgiveness.

"You can get common sense." Caroline answers not even thinking about, making Mason turn to look at the blonde unamused. "You're not good for her." Caroline tells him. "You make her cry, and angry, when you two break up she cries so much, and she deserves more than that." She tells him honestly. Mason looked at the blonde child not knowing how to respond. Mason knew that Rory and him were not good together, not together together, when they were friends they were fine, but something about being together brought out the worst in them. It's as if Mason knew that even though Rory saw the worst of him, she wouldn't leave him, and he wouldn't leave her. He had made her cry before the Mystic Falls pageant, the two got into a big fight over something very stupid. She asked someone else to escort her, she didn't want him to escort her or have anything to do with him, but in his natural Mason Lockwood he weaseled his way through, and became her escort, and that year, Lorelai Jamie Forbes became Miss Mystic Falls.

Two weeks laters Rory and Mason made up, and proceeded with their regularly programmed bullshit, as Caroline so elegantly called it. Senior year, was different for Rory, a wake up call happened, she broke up with Mason, and didn't take him back, before she left to Vermont. That was the hot gossip coming back, Mason hadn't really told anyone Rory dumped him, but it was made public news when Rory came back. Caroline couldn't of have been prouder of her older sister for finally kicking Mason to the curve. She applied to the colleges she wanted to and began behaving, it was the Rory that knew without Mason. Mason couldn't help but be upset, of how unbothered Rory looked through the entire first weeks of school, it's as he was the only one hurt by their break up. 

Rory and him got into a argument in the parking lot which ended with her yelling at him, "deal with it yourself! I already dealt with it!" That caused rumors to spread around the school and town, quickly. She walked away from him, knowing it was better for her to walk away. She was better off on her own.

         WHEN GRADUATION CAME AROUND, RORY GOT A NEW CAR FROM LIZ AND BILL, NOT wanting to worry for her safety or if the car stopped working. Mason threw a party at the quarry. Only seniors were invited but some juniors crashed it, it's usually how things went around here. Someone always crashing a party. This party ended like every other party at Mystic Falls, with Mason and Rory back on his bed, but this was their final goodbye. Mason had finally accepted the fact that Rory and him weren't meant to be, they had to go their separate ways, and with his trust fund coming in, he was leaving Mystic Falls and not coming back, unless he absolutely needed to.

"Mason, I'm serious, this the last time." She tells him.

"Our very own goodbye." He says before kissing her, and she nods and kisses him.

"Our very own goodbye." She whispers back to him, before completely sitting on him and kissing him again.

                       RORY AND MASON LAY IN BED, BREATHLESS, AND THEY HAD THIS GLOW TO them. "I really wanted us to work." He says softly, and she takes his hand in hers.

"Me too." She admits. "But were better off apart, than together. We're horrible to each other." She says and he nods knowing that it's true. As much as he hurt her, she would hurt him right back. Their relationship wasn't a healthy one, and it was time to admit it and move on with their lives. Their next chapter was about to begin without the other, and it would okay. "Plus it's better than us being tied to each other forever." She says and he nods.

The pregnancy scare, terrified the two of them. Rory had things she wanted to do before she had kids, she wasn't ready to be a mom. Mason wasn't ready for a kid, he doesn't know if he'll ever be. When the tests came back positive, and she got period a few weeks later, the two have never felt such relief.

        RORY BEGAN COLLEGE AT WHITMORE COLLEGE, THE COLLEGE WHERE HER FATHER taught at, before his death. She got a dorm and roomed with Jenna Sommers. When Rory was there her first year, she went home, her first home, it was as if time had stopped in the home, it was clean, and nothing was out of placement. She knew that Liz and Bill kept it, and it was under her name. She hadn't been back here since before the funeral, when she couldn't bring herself to come. Now she stands in the home that was once filled with so much love, laughter, and joy. God, she missed her parents, she was thankful for Liz and Bill, but they didn't fill the ache in her heart, she hated the fact that if she ever got married her father wouldn't be there to walk her down the isle. Or the fact that her parents didn't see her high school graduation, or were there when she broke her arm and needed a cast. Or her dad would dance in the living rooms calling her Princess Rory, or she couldn't bake with her mother anymore.
