RORY MADE HER WAY TO LIZ, A NECKLACE IN HAND. "CAN I TALK TO YOU FOR a bit?" Rory asks her.
"Yeah, what's going on?" Liz asks her.
"Auntie Rosemary sent me this necklace, I've been looking for one for ever for you. And this one is perfect for you, I know you don't believe in this crap, so entertain me." Rory says. She remembers Liz would hugged her teddy bear just because she thought it would keep her safe on the job. She did it until Rory was nine, who claimed she was believed in her to be safe. "It's supposed to protect her energy, and keep evil at bay, and it's gorgeous." Rory rants. She doesn't tell her the fact that it won't allow vampires to compel her, it's enchanted with vervain, and every bit of it has vervain.
"It's smells good." Liz smiles taking the necklace in her hands, "it's small," she says knowing Rory kept that in kind, it was simple, not bulky, she could wear it under her uniform. "Help me?" Rory nods and she helps her. "Thank you, it's beautiful." Liz smiles.
"In a couple days, Auntie Rosemary and Frida are flying in, they said they had important matters to speak to me, about my mom. Any clue what it might be about." Rory says and Liz looks at her, her expression falters for a bit but she covers it up with a small smile. Rory misses Liz expression change, only catching her small smile.
"No, sorry sweetheart." Liz smiles and Rory nods.
AT THE FORBES HOUSE, RORY HELPS LIZ TAKE SOME BOXES AS CAROLINE ARRIVES. "ARE you off today?" The blonde teenager asks her mom.
Liz says, "The historical society volunteer picnic is today. You're the one who signed me up."
Caroline says, "I know. I just assumed you'd bail, have Rory cover you."
Liz says, "No. I'm gonna spend the whole day with my daughter, Rory will be busy." Rory was busy today, she was confused by Liz's explanation but she didn't want to be near Care, so she kept quiet.
Caroline asks, "You're gonna pretend to be a mother?"
Liz says, "I'll bring my gun if it gets rough. Come on, give me one day. I've been buried in work mode, I've barely seen you."
Caroline says, "Well be warned, I'm in a mood."
Liz says, "Goody for me. What was Elena doing here so late last night?"
Caroline says, "Elena wasn't... yes um... Elena was here. She just needed to talk. Her and Stefan are going trough a rough patch." Rory doesn't believe her but decides against saying anything. She was still hurt by Caroline's comment yesterday.
