Chapter 37

The almost unfortunateincident

The lights blinded me and I stood there frozen knowing that there is no way I am going to survive this incident. I am not going to survive this accident, no matter what. But then by some miracle, Violet pushed me away and we both ended up rolling on the sidewalk. 

 She was shaking badly. I can feel how afraid she was actually. I can feel her shaking. "Violet, are you alright?" I asked checking her up. "I... I am... you are..." She shivered badly. I pulled her in my arms.

"It is over, it is done, I am here and I am alright, see? I am alright" I tried to reassure her. But I haven't assured myself how I am safe. I could have died today. If it wasn't for Violet. I could have just gone. But I am not. I am here. And the reason is her. She held on to me very tightly. "I am very sorry; I didn't want you to worry about me," I told her. I looked at her vulnerable self as I took her back to the house.

I placed her on the bed and turned on the light. "You are hurt, why you had to be foolish like this? What if something happened to you? What then? How would I have survived? "I asked. She touched my cheek.

 "If something happened to you, how would I have survived knowing I just stood there doing nothing?" She asked me. "I understand what is that you want to say. I guess we both wanted to protect each other but ended up hurting each other more isn't it Querida?" I asked running my fingers through her hairs.

"I guess so, I guess I am thinking of how I cannot have a life without you. And that is true, I cannot have a life without you." She whispered. "So, do I querida. I cannot live without you too. I guess It was just a simple misunderstanding between us." 

I took the first aid box out and started to clean up the scrap on her legs. She hissed looking at me. "Sorry" I whispered. "it is alright. It is not like you have done this on purpose." No, I didn't but she got hurt trying to save me and that is something that actually counts.

'Don't be so hard on yourself Lucian." She whispered kissing me. I kissed her back. "I am so sorry that I said all awful things to you. Never again I am going to say anything to you. I promise you that Querida." I said. 

"And I will never again doubt you ever again, I promise, I do My sweet beautiful Querida," I told her. And then I pulled into my arms. I have to protect her and that is something I am not planning to compromise with.

She looked at the ring resting on her finger. "It is beautiful" She whispered. "It is right? I have requested it to be something that belonged to you specially. I wanted this to be like you, simple yet beautiful" She took my hand in hers. 

"And I want to remain like this forever in your eyes." I placed a kiss on her forehead and pulled her closer. "Yes, you will always be like this in my eyes Violet, my Querida, and I cannot wait to see you like this right by my side every day when I get up," I whispered and she pulled me into her arms again.

My eyes opened up when I heard the ringing of the phone. I groaned and turned to my side thinking I will find Violet lying there. But she was gone once again. I have no clue where she had gone to. 

But I know for one thing that she is somewhere I don't know anything about. I heard the phone ring loudly once again, I picked it up half expecting it to be Violet. But it was my idiot brother Ezra.

"Sleeping still? Was last night too much for you?" He asked. "I am fine, I just had an accident that's all...." Before he can ask, I gave him the details about mine and Violet's fight and the argument escalating and I almost getting run over by a car if it wasn't for her. 

Even Ezra turned silent. There aren't many things that can make Ezra turn silent. But I think I just did it. "That much happened in one night? It is harder to wrap my head around this entire thing. I don't know how you did it"
