Chapter 18

A beautiful sunrise

I woke up with a beautiful sight in front of me. I actually slept, and didn't had any kind of nightmare. Then I saw the time it was eleven in the morning. I cannot believe I have slept that long. I checked my phone. I had many missed calls and many text messages from all of them. So now they are concerned? What for? I am not going to die and I am not dead. Not now anyways. Instead I feel alive more than I ever was.

My phone rang and I picked it up without seeing the number. "Night" "Lucian" The voice on the other end had jolted my nerves. I was now wide awake; all the tiredness had been gone from my body. I walked towards the balcony pulling on my robe. 

"Yes," I tried best to calm my racing heart down. "Are you still asleep?" She asked. She had this uncanny habit of figuring things out about me. Only thing she never figured out is the amount of damage she had caused by doing what she had did.

"No, I am wide awake, why?" "You weren't picking up your phone and you had left so suddenly. I was worried, then this storm had trapped all of us in. I wanted to call you know, I wanted to ask about your well-being." I felt someone holding my waist and I looked behind me. "Good morning Baby" Violet said sleepily. "Can you not come back to bed." I chuckled. Sometimes she looks too cute for her own good. "Good morning querida, I won't be long I promise." I kissed her forehead and she walked away.

"Is there someone with you?" She asked. "That is none of your business Daphne, tell me why the hell you called this number and how the hell you have gotten this?" I asked. "It is her isn't it? That girl who was with you last night? Mom told me that she loves you. Does she love you Lucian? Or she loves your money?" I hate her, she doesn't get to blame my girl for everything that is wrong with her life.

"Daphne, I had a very good start of morning, now if you have some business, I would suggest that you state that otherwise leave me and my girl alone." I told her. "have you forgotten all about me Lucian? "She whispered. My black heart skipped another beat as it always does. "No, I didn't." I said. "Then how could you do this? How could you smile and laugh and have her to date you? Who are you trying to fool?" I shied. "No one, I am trying to fool no one."

I turn around to see Violet standing at side of the bed trying to look for her cloths. She had a faraway look in her eyes. "Look if you don't have any business, I have many important things to do," I was about to hang up on her but she stopped me yet again. "Stop Lucian, don't hang up on me. Why don't you come and meet me for old times sake? Maybe we can become what we are." I looked at Violet again, she was looking at me but her eyes were glassy as if she was thinking something.

"I need to go Daphne I am sorry. I cannot meet you. What we have before, whatever you were to me, now I am your brother and you shall respect me for that only. I need to impress someone right now and she is much more important than you will ever be to me." I cut the call and walked towards Violet. She still was thinking something. She wasn't aware of my presence at all. "querida," I called.

She didn't respond. I held her shoulder and she gasped and her eyes looked frightened for some reason. Was it because of me? Was she afraid of me? No, I haven't hurt her, I cannot even think to hurt her in my worst nightmare." baby, are you alright?" I asked her. She nodded holding my waist. I kissed her forehead softly. "What happened you looked spooked out babe." "n...nothing" She shuttered.

I didn't let go but I didn't press the topic further. She will tell me in due time. When she will be ready, she will tell me what is wrong with her. "You heard me talking to her, don't you? Aren't you going to ask me about it?" I asked.

 "No, I am not Lucian. If you would tell me I will listen, but until then I do not wish to confront you about anything. And besides, we are just beginning our time together, we have a whole lifetime left to figure things out." I nodded kissing her forehead. "I think you are very right Querida, let's just enjoy this, our new found relationship. Maybe we can figure out things later"

Someone knocked the door and I covered her in my t-shirt. "now, you look mine baby, and no one is going to take you away from me. Can they?" She shook her head. "that's just what my thoughts are baby. That's what my thoughts are." I opened the door and she hid behind me. 

"Lucian, I want to see my sister. She left last night and because of the storm the phones were dead. I tried hard to contact her but she didn't pick up." "Oh, so you abandoned her? And you were telling me that I wasn't right for her." I said.

"Look I am not here to argue, is she in here or not?" I moved back and she entered. I saw her looking at my bed and then at her. Violet was standing beside the window wearing my t-shirt and thinking something hard. She looked peaceful. Too peaceful. "V, I was worried" Myra hugged her. "I know, Myra. But you don't have to. I am not a little kid anymore. I can take care of myself. You should start your own family with Damien" Violet said. "I know V, I just... I thought you were leaving with us? Aren't you?" She asked.

"No, not today. I am staying here. Something came up. I want to stay here. Beside my Boss, my best friend. He needs me more than anyone here I decided to stay," Violet said. I didn't comment how she called me her boss and her best friend. Even after what had happened last night. I don't know why it feels bad. I don't know why it feels too much bad. "Yes, she is right Myra. I have some work and I need Miss Washington's assistance."

"And she is wearing your cloths because?" "Because I took care of her last night, she was shivering and was feverish because you were foolish enough to let her walk you out in the storm" I told her. "She wouldn't have left if you didn't. It was because of you she had left." "Myra please, don't say the things you don't know." Myra looked at me and then at Violet.

"Oh V, I know him very well that is why I do not wish that you associate with him more than necessary but as you said. This is your life and you should be responsible for it and you will be, V, you will be I promise you that." Myra told her and then she gave me one last look walking away. I locked the door after her.

"So? Am I your best friend?" I asked. "i...I have to tell her something that is only what came to my mind that time." I shied "Next time try the truth. You and I are consenting adults, and what we do behind close door is no one's concern but ours as long as we stay true to ourselves and each other we don't need to shield it Miss Washington. Now tell me are you in pain? Normally it is alright to feel discomfort and pain." I told her.

"A little Why?" She asked shyly. "Because I am not done with you yet and after what you told your sister, I think I need to remind you well who you belong to Miss Washington. I think I am going to enjoy it very much teaching you, my place in your life and you will comply, won't you querida."

"What are you planning to do?" She asked. "Nothing, that I didn't done last night. Remember Miss Washington, after last night you and your body belongs to me. No one else and I am going to take away every competition that ever existed. I will trust me" I said kissing her hard on her mouth.
