Bros Before Hoes

I heard my doorbell ring. And I opened it. Ezra was standing in front of me with a smile on his face. "Glad you called so I didn't have to." Ezra said. "Any special reason why you were trying to call me?" I asked. "Yes, arranging another baby shower for Rosa and I need your help with few things." He said. "Yes, I know this is your third child." Ezra made a face. "I know, but I am fond of children." He paused looking at me.

"Tell me why you called me here Lucian?" he asked. "Is something wrong between you and Violet?" What is right between me and Violet is the thing I am trying to find. "No, I am just worried about her recent behavior that is. She seems to be hiding something from me." I told him. "And you think because? Don't tell me you think she is cheating on you."

"Not in my worst nightmare, I can ever think she can do that." I know she is not cheating on me. It is bigger than that. If she wanted to leave, she knows that I will let her walk away. I know she knows this too. "Then? What seems to be the problem?" He asked. "Remember a year for which she had disappeared from the face of the earth? It so happened that we were in contact all the time. After Sam's engagement and before that when we had met. But something did happen. She had changed a lot."

"So, you are suspecting that she is lying to you about her whereabouts?" He asked. "I am certain that she is lying to me. But I don't know why she is lying to me. I am concerned so very much about her. If she keeps on doing this... how am I supposed to help her?" I asked. "That is a problem, she should talk to you, at least if no one would understand you will Lucian." I wish she would. But looks like I have to figure it all out the hard way.

"I want your PI to run a background check on her time at Australia, and Romania, because her passport says she had been to Romania for an unusually long vacation." I said. " So, you want my PI to dug up info on your girl and she shouldn't know is that so?" I nodded. "And if she finds out then what?" "Who is going to tell her? You or I?" Ezra looked at me with weird expression. "Yes you are right" I am always right Ezra that is what makes me different.

"So, are you coming to the baby shower? I know Rosa will be expecting you" He asked. "I know she is," And she isn't very happy of me being happy. I am seriously sad that she is not sharing my vision of me being happy with Violet. I thought at least she would understand, but sadly she will not. And that pains me to an extent I cannot even express. "Lucian, is there anything wrong?" Yes, but I am not telling you and putting her and your relationship in jeopardy.

"No, I am just happy for you. That's all." I said. "Are you?" He retorted back. "I don't know why you think I am not happy for you but trust me I am happy for you. I am happy that you and Rosa are growing strong together. There is nothing more that I want, nothing more that I need." I looked at the door to my room. "I have something worth fighting for like once you have." He patted my back. "The baby shower is next week and I have this Friday free, so are you going to join me for drinks this Friday?" He asked.

"I want to but..." I looked at the door of my room again, "I understand, but if you do then, I have lots to share brother, but only if you are willing to listen to the words I have to say. And I know you think I have wronged you somehow. I know you still are in love with Rosa..." I stopped him there. "Yes, I was in love with Rosa, somehow I was fixated on this idea that I will always have this bad luck of loving someone I cannot make mine. But somehow, I know my luck is changing and this change is for good"

"Lucian, I know you are a good man. And no matter what anyone says, even if that anyone is my own wife and her best friend. You deserve to be happy. And if Violet can make you happy, no matter what anyone says, you should never ever let her go." He paused looking into my eyes. I never had saw Ezra so serious. Only time he was this serious when he was drunk and he just lost Rosa.
