His eyes were trained on her armour clad form like a hawk. He watched keenly, like a predator taking in the prey. The way she moved her body along with her sword, who would say it was the same princess of Singhall, who loved to put kohl in her eyes? For a moment Shivaay could not believe that it was the same woman who was his would be queen's younger sister. She fought bluntly and ardently. Her eyes having a frantic fire in them. Her hands held the copper part of her double edged sword tightly. She was alert, as she fought with her opponent.
Shivaay had seen this lady a couple of times, when he visited this King of Sighall. Anika, was her name. She was the youngest daughter of Raja Ayush Chauhan. She was really close to her father, who supported her wish to be a warrior. Shivaay had heard that she was the only female warrior in the army of Singhall. The lady was said to be ruthless in the battlefield.
He had all, but heard tales of her. This was the first time he had seen her fighting. He had come to ask for her sister, Avanti's hand in marriage. Shivaay's breath hitched when she removed her helm, letting her long, black, wavy hair frame her heart shaped face. Shivaay had never seen a woman so beautiful - To say he thought she was beautiful would be an understatement, she was absolutely stunning.
Shivaay observed her moving her double edged sword courageously. Her eyes held strong determination, giving no place to fear. A small smirk made its way to Shivaay's face. The woman whom he had always seen in heavy traditional sari, looked even more tempting in her armour.
Anika's sword battled with the air, lacking any mercy. Her Guru ji, watched her from afar - impressed. Anika had mastered swordsmanship. Anika preferred to use double edged swords more, having more experience with it. It was not something common in that time, the soldiers who fought with Anika, were well aware that she was not to be underestimated for being a woman.
Her hair seemed to be as soft as silk, her fair skin seemed milky. How would it be to touch that beautiful face, or to run his fingers through her hair? Shivaay thought. As if by a sixth sense, Anika turned to look at him, she could feel someone looking at her. As the honey brown orbs gazed at the hazel orbs, it felt as if time stopped. Anika felt breathless and anxious staring at his deep, dark and mysterious eyes. It was as if those eyes were pulling her in.
She looked away from him urgently, she couldn't have any feelings, heck, anything for him. He was her brother in-law, her sister's husband, not hers. Well that thought pricked her heart. Anika closed her eyes, feeling shame wash over herself. How could someone think something like that of a man who was so unknown? It was not something any princess would ever do. Anika felt guilty, yet she could not deny, that he was insanely attractive and good looking.
A feeling of rejection washed over the proud and mighty king of Mewar, when she looked away from him. He could swear that he had seen the fire in her eyes when she looked at him. He had seen the need and desire in her eyes for him whenever she looked at him. His years of experience could not go wrong, right? He suddenly felt furious. She had shown him utter disrespect and insolence. If only he was not crazily attracted to his woman, he would show her who he was.
