It had rained diamonds, as the dew kissed the grass and leaves. Yet the disastrous effects of the storm were inevitable. It was as if nature had been tired of it's usual colours and now transformed, into an aftermath, aftermath of an apocalypse. Puddles sparked in the fields, as the sun felt lazy, lazy enough to rest some more. The sky was an eccentric shade of blue, yet not as eccentric as the eyes of her majazi khuda.
Anika listened to the kirtan, carefully. Back in her maternal castle, her father and she loved listening to them. The puranas had such intriguing stories to tell. Anika listened to Swami Ji's words, afraid to miss a single thing he uttered. He was telling a tale of Lord Krishna and Rukmini, when he abruptly stopped, causing Anika to furrow her eyebrows in confusion. He got up, greeting the King. Anika turned, causing his eyes to fall on her, making her blush. Blushing was something she was doing a lot since this morning.
Shivaay greeted back, before asking the Swami to leave politely. Anika turned towards him, butterflies danced in her stomach. She suddenly felt eager to hear his words. Never had the Queen of Mewar thought that the king could speak suck honey coated words.
She has been too lost in her thoughts to notice her husband, who was just one step away now. Anika suddenly gasped seeing him that close to her..
"Aj toh hamari Rani sa bohot khush dikh raahi hai? Woh narazgi nehi dikh rahi, par woh aag, woh aag abhi bhi hai aapki aankho mein," (my queen seems to be happy today? That anger is not visible in those eyes, but that fire, that fire is till there)
"Kaisi aag?" (which fire)
"Woh aag, jo hum kabhi bujhne nehi denge," (that fire, which I will never let getting extinguished)
He took another step forward, holding his queen by her milky waist. Anika's eyes went wide as her chest brushed against his. He did it again, this is embarrassing.
Shivaay fiddled with her left earring , before running his thumb on the left side of her neck.
"Jinse mohabbat hai, unpe haq jatane ki ijazat hai?" (am i allowed to impose my rights on the person I love?)
He attached his lips to her neck, causing her to shut her eyes. Anika felt weird, in a way that her toes curled themselves. Shivaay sucked her skin softly, he was clouding her senses. Her brain was foggy, the slight pleasure mixed with the slight pain, stung her neck. She didn't know if she wanted it to stop, or increase,
"Ijazat hai," (you are allowed)
"Soch lijiye, Anika, aapko pata hai na ki hum kya mang rahe hai?" (think again. you do know right, that what am I asking for?)
After their marriage, Anika had not expected rehm. He was ruthless, it was in his eyes, in the way he looked at someone, as if those eyes could turn one into ashes. Yet there was nothing of that sort, he did not act like the barbarian, she thought he would be.
