It's been another week, Regina was sat in her bed with her hand on her stomach, brushing it with her thumb. She had just had her abortion and was feeling a little down, needing time to herself. Of course she wanted it, she couldn't possibly keep it but it still made her feel upset each time it's happened before.

"I'm sorry, little one. I just couldn't keep you" Regina softly said, looking at her stomach as she held it in her hand.

She rested her head back against the wall as she thought about her life. This had been her 4th abortion thanks to her step father. Each one she wanted, as she had always wanted a baby, but she could never keep them. As she was in her thoughts, Emma came into the room. She could tell, instantly, that Regina was thinking intensely, she hadn't even notice the blonde coming in. She walked over to the side of the bed and croached down beside her, brushing her head softly.

"Gina" Emma whispered in a gentle tone, catching the smallest part of her attention. Regina just looked at her with a confused look, not realising her come in. "The police phoned, they want you to come down to just identify and check it's definitely him"

"They arrested him?" Regina asked with slight shock, not knowing it was going to be today.

"Yeah, earlier today" Emma softly replied, moving her hand to hold the brunettes cheek. Regina just nodded and looked back at her stomach, feeling overwhelmed by the whole days events. "They said you can take your time and go down whenever you are ready"

"Let's just go now"

"If you're not r-"

"No, lets just go and get it over with" Regina cut in, climbing out of the bed quickly. Emma watched as the brunette walked over to the bathroom, running the water to splash her face. Regina patted it dry and looked into the mirror, rubbing her eyes from stress. "Right, let's go"

"Are you sure you want to go now" Emma softly asked, seeing the stress across the upset brunettes face.

"Yeah, I want it over and done with" Regina sighed her response, walking over to her bedroom door.

Emma gently caught her wrist to stop her leaving. She stepped closer and placed a soft kiss on her girlfriends cheek, moving to kiss her lips softly. She used her hands to fix the brunettes hair into place before resting them on her cheek.

"I love you and I'm so proud of you, you're so strong" Emma whispered softly, resting her head against the brunettes to look into her eyes.

"Thank you, buttercup" Regina softly replied, giving a small smile as she placed her hand upon her girlfriends cheek. "I love you too"

They both shared a final kiss before moving away, linking their hands as they left the room. They went downstairs and out the front door, heading to Emma's car. The blonde drove them to the police station and led the way in, waiting for the elevator. As Emma glanced at Regina, she saw the fear glowing all over her body like she was a glow stick. The blonde put her arm around her shoulder and hugged her, hoping to relax her a little.

"It's ok, you're going to be ok" Emma softly said, feeling the brunette hug her tighter.

Regina just nodded as she buried her head more, not wanting people to see her scared. As the elevator arrived, they walked in, still cuddled together. Regina slowly lifted her head and rested it on Emma's, just looking into her eyes.

"They're one of my favourite features, your eyes. They are just so beautiful" Regina whispered, lifting her hand to brush her cheek.

"My favourite is your smile, I miss it ever time it's not there" Emma softly said, smiling a little in hope to get one from the brunette. Regina chuckled a little as she smiled, not helping her actions but not stopping them. "See, my favourite"

Regina just giggled a little and stood closer to the blonde, kissing her softly. The doors opened, causing them both to move away and walk out quickly. Emma scanned around before finding the detective, walking towards him. As he glanced up, he saw them walking and smiled to greet them.

"Hi, Mrs Mills and Miss Swan" detective White said with a smile, holding his hand to shake theirs.

"I'm Miss, not Mrs" Regina corrected, knowing she is only Mrs on paper and that was stood to end.

"Apologies, Miss. We have Mr Cartright-Mills in an interrogation room currently" White replied politely, leading the way to the room he meant. They walked into the back room to see the man through a mirror that allowed him to be the only one seen, not them. "I'm going to make him stand and look this way. All we need you to do is correctly identified that this is your step father"

"Ok" Regina mumbled, squeezing Emma's hand tightly in her grip.

"Mr Cartright-Mills, please stand and face the mirror front on" White requested, using the speaker to communicate. The man stood from his seat and faced the mirror, seeing only his reflection of his angry face. "Is it definitely him" White asked the brunette, removing his hand from the speaker.

"Yes, that's him" Regina simply replied, looking into the eyes of the man who ruined her childhood.

"Thank you, Miss Mills. We will keep you updated for the court date" White informed, gesturing for them to go to the door.

Regina and Emma left the room and headed straight for the elevator, neither saying a word. Regina has a few tears in her eyes at see the man, the lack of remorse hurt her. She closed her eyes and leaned against the elevator walls, taking feel breaths to keep her calm. Emma placed her hand on her shoulder and rubbed it softly, showing the brunette she was still there.

"I'll drive home, I want to stop somewhere first" Regina softly said, not bothering to look up at the woman.

Emma gave her a simple nod, knowing not to ask where they were going. She reached down and held the brunettes hand, leaned next to her. The doors opened and they both left quickly, heading towards the car. Regina began driving, her mind in so many placed it was hard to think of one thing. She arrived at a church, parking just in front of it.

"Why are we here" Emma softly asked, never knowing the brunette to be religious.

"When I was a kid, we use to go to church every Sunday. Slowly it turned to every other Sunday, then once a month and then never again. I just want to see if this will help in any way" Regina explained, looking at the large building she'd drove past so many times.

Before Emma could speak, Regina climbed out the car and began walking to the entrance. Emma followed behind her and into the building, knowing she'd never actually been in one after her mother's funeral. They sat down near the back, seeing a handful of people inside praying. Regina looked at Emma and she had a nervous look to her.

"What is it?"

"I don't know what I'm more stressed about"

"Just pray for ease" Emma softly said, moving some of the brunette hair behind her ear.

Regina nodded and lowered her head, praying for her life to be a little easier from now on. Emma just sat awkwardly, she'd never been religious and wasn't sure how to do it. As she looked at Regina, she saw the pain and fear in her screwed up face. She placed her arm around her shoulder and they cuddled close, still allowing Regina to pray in her loves arms. As she rested in Emma's arms, she realised the one thing she wanted most in life. Regina took her deep breath and made her prayer in her head.

I wish for Emma to be nothing but happy.
