"Where are you off to Mikaelson?" Theodore questions me. Dinner had concluded and though my friends and classmates were heading back to their dorms, I was headed to the owlry to send a letter. "I'm headed to the owlry, I'll be back in the common soon." I smile. "Oh, alright." he nods. Blaise passes Nott, slinging his arm around his friend's shoulders. "Writing to Daddy Vamp again 'ey?" he questions with a faint shiver.
I roll my eyes and shove him with my fist, "Might want to quit making fun of my dear ol' dad, you never know when he's using his vamp hearing." I tauntingly wink at the now trembling duo. "I'm kidding, chill." I chuckle, peering slightly to the left to see Draco approaching.
He gazes down at me lovingly, tilting his head to the side. The space between us: no longer existent. I stare into his crystal-like grey eyes and smile, "Hi," I whisper close to his lips. "Hi," he grins. He moves a piece of hair behind my ear, softly moving to stroke the soft skin of my cheek. As he does so, I examine his eyes as they follow his fingertips. He sighs, "Do you want me to walk you there love?"
"No, I'll be alright. Thank you though," I stroke his palm and intertwine our fingers. He searches my eyes; unsure whether or not he should simply listen to me or escort me safely to the owlry. "Are you sure? Darling, I don't want to leave you alone this late." he pouts. "Draco, when have I ever not been able to handle myself?" I stare reassuringly into his eyes. "Besides, I'll meet you back in the common room later." I lift onto the balls of my feet and peck his cheek.
His face grows pink and a cocky grin curls his lips, "I think you missed." he pointed to his lips using his pointer finger. I look down at the ground smiling. He moves his free hand to my chin and guides my face up to meet his eyes. Slowly, we lean in and our lips collide. Using his free hand, he grasps my cheek and just behind my jaw. This kiss was gentle, yet passionate. My hand traveled up his chest-
"Eh em." a throat cleared.
Our lips detach and we turn around. "Can we get one of those?" Theo joked with his arm still slung around Blaise. "Why don't you too just give one to each other?" I smile sarcastically; my tone rather bitter considering my moment with Draco was abruptly interrupted.
The two boys raise their eyebrows, look at each other, then look back at us and shrug. "You two are bloody idiots." Draco rolls his eyes. I chuckle and pat my boyfriend's chest, "I'll see you guys later," I begin to walk down the corridor, but as I gaze back in the direction of where I last stood, Draco pouted at me slightly as I walked further away.
I entered the owlry, to my delight it was empty. I sat down on a table nearest to the wall. Pulling out one of the complimentary quills and began my letter. Once I finished writing, drafting, and redrafting again, I folded the parchment and placed it into an envelope. Owls hooted perched upon wooden pegs.
I handed my letter to one of the groomed birds. It pecked my finger as a sign of admiration. As payment, I fed the owl a treat and stroked its soft feathers. It flew through a small bird-sized hole in the window, soon to deliver the letter.
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA
The windswept harshly, it was dark; however, the bright lights of the French Quarter illuminated the night. Citizens, both human, and inhuman stared curiously as a white and grey owl glided through the streets and past windows. While clutching onto a letter, desperate to find its recipient.
