A gust of wind blew forcefully through the window sending curtains flying. The sun peeped through the now vacant space between the drapes. Birds could be heard from miles away, chirping peacefully together in harmony. A sense of quaint tranquility could be found in the morning air.

Tender snores escaped my plump lips. My body was tightly cradled within the silky duvet. With one arm dangling off of the bed I slept well. All I wished was to sleep all day, especially today. For today is my least favorite day of the year. All I cared for was no distractions, no madness, and no toil. But to my dismay, I was lifted away from my slumber by a sudden opening of my door.

Great.

A tall figure entered the room, closing the door behind them. "Purity..." he says tauntingly. I could practically sense the smirk on his face. You have got to be kidding me. He takes a step closer when he notices no response. "Purity," he says more clearly. "Hey idiot, wake up," he orders. I bury my face in my pillow and groan while mumbling an inaudible, "No." that was muffled by the satin pillowcase.

He groans quietly while pacing around the room. All of a sudden, his movement stops. I continued to ignore his attempts to wake me until a pillow was thrown directly at my head. I shot my body upright so I could see him. He was clutching his stomach from laughing too hard. He continued to chuckle hysterically as I said nothing, crossing my arms above my chest in aggravation.

"Shut up." I mumble, glaring him down. He soon ceases to chuckle and takes a seat beside me on the bed. "Draco, what the bloody hell could you possibly want at..." I pause to check the time from an alarm clock sitting on one of the nightstands. "7:30? YOU WOKE ME UP AT 7:30?! No, that's it I'm going back to bed." I exasperated and began to fall back onto the pillow but was caught by two strong arms hoisting me back to a seated position. "Oh no you don't," he protested. I sighed as I met his eyes.

"What do you want?" I huffed. He reaches behind himself and grasps a rectangular box. He holds the box in front of him, signaling for me to take it.

"Happy birthday, love."

I grasp the neatly wrapped present and pull it towards me. I stare for a few seconds before turning to him. He appeared slightly nervous. "Draco, you really didn't have to get-" he cuts me off, "Nonsense, open it." I nod and smile, shooting my vision back to the green and silver box. I could tell someone took their time to wrap it.

I tear through the wrapping paper excitedly. Behind the silver and green paper sat a black velvet box, one that would most likely hold jewelry. Beside me, Draco anxiously pats his knees and bit his lip. I slowly opened the velour box. What was revealed inside made my heart stop. With wide eyes and my mouth slightly ajar I gazed soundlessly at the beautiful gift.

An alluring diamond snake necklace rested inside. The same necklace that captivated my attention on a trip to Hogsmeade. I couldn't believe what I was seeing in front of me. He took my silence as a sign of dislike and ran his hands through his hair, disheveling it. "Damnit," he mumbled. "I knew you wouldn't like it, I'm sorry I should just go-" He began to lift himself off of the bed but I forcefully grab his hand and pull him back.

I wrap my arms above his shoulders and indulge him in a warm hug. "I can't believe you remembered," I whisper into the crook of his neck. After a few seconds, he relaxes and his arms slither around my waist, pulling me closer. I hear a relieved sigh escape his lips.

After a minute we hesitantly pulled away and I glanced back at the magnificent piece of jewelry. "Yeah, after I spilled ice cream on your coat and we had that little argument I went back to the jewelry store and bought it for you. I would have given it to you later, but I figured you could wear it to your birthday gala tonight." he chuckled awkwardly and scratched the back of his neck.
