1. Hokkaido – the mountain sleeps light, vast snow-covered pine meadow, azure blue lakefront

2. Aomori – apple orchards lay, beside the royal white fort, waters cascading

3. Iwate – fog-covered highland, steep over on a chalk cliff, the Earth roars beneath

4. Miyagi – blank white pine isles, the red bridge leads all who dare, a stone pillar juts

5. Akita – the samurai's hut, touches the cherry blossom, before the ascent

6. Yamagata – the tower of wood, stands alone in a clear forest, as oak leaves gather

7. Fukushima – an ancient mound blends, lit by sinking lantern light, to the sound of drums

8. Ibaraki – the lotus flower, humble and rested atop, awaits the summer

9. Tochigi – the wall of cedar, guards the flowing river lane, passing from the fall

10. Gunma – rolling grassy glen, looks up to the upper sky, milling the river

11. Saitama – nature changes quickly, a forest of steel and tar, leads to the grand fore

12. Chiba – turquoise bayside, winter snow frost clouds the beach, riddled with brittle reeds

13. Tōkyō – a temple to man, in the shade of a mountain, where a fire meets ice

14. Kanagawa – the waves crash at heart, mist heads upstream and away, to the dragon's den

15. Niigata – the red sun setting, across a wide horizon, to settle the day

16. Toyama – winter continues, the glacier edges slow downhill, draining to crystal

17. Ishikawa – an old terrace rises, to flowerpots in springtime, dawn breaking at seven

18. Fukui – a column at sea, laden with blown-out petals, conceals a treasure

19. Yamanashi – vines creep by the long fall, gushing in autumn lease, bridged by steel archways

20. Nagano – a mountain heartland, taking pride in wild winter, appeases the blind eye

21. Gifu - yellow flower hills, soaked in balmy sunlight, sway with the brisk wind

22. Shizuoka - the red temple basks, beneath the sakura wall, guarded by the sun

23. Aichi - below the clear sky, a sea of sunflowers bloom, beside cobble

24. Mie - two rocks tied beside, appeasing the ancients, against roaring seas

25. Shiga - red summer koi fish, jutting out from the great lake, basking in the sun

26. Kyōto - the smell of dry tea, permeates the golden shrine, reflecting on tides

27. Ōsaka - the city slumbers, moonlight covers all life, life that cares

28. Hyōgo - the white-clad mount, dwarfs all the nearby forests, gleaming in low spring

29. Nara - red autumn leaves, subject to changes yearly, falling like rains

30. Wakayama - tender onsen spring, look out onto the waters, rippling delicate

31. Tottori - yellow grain dunes, like impassable walls, cut off the channels

32. Shimane - winter covers most, like a fleeting blanket, out on the cape

33. Okayama - at a growing park, silent small rainbows flourish, churning perfume

34. Hiroshima - out of the ashes, a city rebuilds from not, and nature heals

35. Yamaguchi - rock trails hop across, in deep granite gorges, a heron's haven

36. Tokushima - a shallow river, cuts the forest by a half, before the storm

37. Kagawa - tulips on islets, fade on the waterfronts, as beauty blooms

38. Ehime - humble kitsune, sleek and agile allies, plod along moss walls

39. Kōchi - fishing villages, awash with summer catches, coat the coastal belt

40. Fukuoka - lowland commune, for the imperial glory, waned for none

41. Saga - ancient hideouts, give way to the castles, intimidating

42. Nagasaki - sole lighthouse, pecks out into the darkness, of a chilly night

43. Kumamoto - water jetting down, from a mortar born bridge, a human marvel

44. Ōita - a saffron kingdom, a lime paradise, needed for the thaw

45. Miyazaki - pine tree cluster, attractive and calming, line southern land

46. Kagoshima - native swamp marsh, scarce to many a tree, offers a peace

47. Okinawa - tropical oasis, far from the ordinary, claims the extremes
