The last colony
Hailing primal pellets and boisterous breaths of fiery fury
On the streets of a great haven born of change
Neither compelled to yield to the times
Grave scenes bellow out from city streets
Knowing only peace and prosperity for lifetimes
One dissatisfied becomes an army to a cause
Not in crime, not in war, but in the search of light
Glinting light that offers the path to a brighter future
Protecting precious liberties like priceless gems awash in gold
Ready to stand on either side for two fabled dreams
Out of skyscraper forests come new towers of smoke
Threats are but hollow in the grand scheme
Easier said than done for all to disperse
Some for the goliath against David
Terrors tarnish the jewel of the River Pearl
Some for the mouse against the cat
Kneel or be forced to kneel
Only fear is to be feared by the believers
When will man learn?
Lingering animosity breeds discontent
Ominous warnings are heeded by all
Odious figures inspire many to one clan
Near the eyes of the world to see
Victory is a far fetched prize on a steep battlefield
In the valleys of time all are remembered
Courage to cowardice, fear to fearless
Torn apart is the city that has been put to rest
Odours of gases fill the dank air
Rumbling shields like an army at war
In time the truth will be told
Avarice and compassion are not bedfellows
Beating hearts to the march's sound
Eerily hostile awaiting heroes to rise
In tandem the winds of change howl
Justice must be served, sided with liberty
In droves, the two crowds continue to swarm
No-one should be destined for martyrdom
Gripping umbrellas to divide and conquer
People jailing the bad, and freeing the wrongly damned
Enabled by separate powers of will and distinction
Antagonizes rise on all sides
Compromise and reconciliation must flower
East and West must see the travesty
