The State of the Union

The state of the union

Each time the nation is shaken, we rise to the occasion

Politics cloaks the fires of injustice

Lacklustre words do nothing and take no heed

Unlike the actions incited coerced

Ravenous mobs storm and plunder

In America and everywhere, freedom is fragile

But freedom must be cherished and appreciated

Understanding the situation is key

Some fight on either side for different reasons

Unity under terror makes the will powerful

Nothing can stop the resilient

Urgent problems must be addressed

Mass injustice displeases the masses

So many wrongs have been made right

In war, in fights, in attacks, we stand

Cowardice shows bad leadership

Stronger souls stand for the greater good

Either in death or in life

Models and idols to aspire to

Per the constitution of the great union

Erasing the contradictions of the old age

Raising freedom yet owning slaves

Taking democracy prime, but supporting tyrants abroad

Yet liberties have not always been available to all

Respect for all is due

America must embrace its past, present, and future

Noting flaws as lessons from history

Naming new leaders to take the reins

In challenging times, the union must stand

Streets full of the oppressed must be noticed

In a new age, there is reason for hope

Not to be taken for granted by the few

Given another chance to rise from the ashes

Order and happiness must be restored to the state

Disease and disorder plague man at present

When stood united, the meagre fools in power take heed

Endowed by their creator to thrive

Trust for authority is a long time coming

Rumbled along the modern world with its own burdens

Under the strain of outside forces

Similar trials have shaped the nation before

The United States provides a lesson to all
