Chapter 19: A different world
David's POV (point of view)

*****6 months later*****

It's 2020 June 2nd.
2020... is the worst year that I've experience in my life. It's so boring!!!
Wearing mask, social distancing, washing your hands all that stuff is just tiresome to do so.

"David? Where are you going?" My Mom said in the kitchen sink. She heard me coming down the stairs.

"I'm going to town to see a friend" I told her.

"Is this... friend a girlfriend?" She joked.

"No Mom. It's just a friend from my class, Blake. We're just going to hangout in town" I said.

That's right, two fifteen year olds going to town to hangout. We had our first lockdown on March and another lockdown is being planned to be set in place at the end of this month. I didn't want to stay home all the time. I want to see my friends.

"Do you want me to drive you there?" She offered.

"No thanks. I'll just take the bus instead"

"Are you sure? There's a virus around out there you know. What if you get sick ?! Or what if you-"

"Mom! I'll be fine. I'm only 15. I think I can handle myself from a virus"

"Okay, fine. Also did you bring your mask?" she asked.

"Yep" I said. I grabbed my shoes from the under stair closet. I insert each foot in each shoe.

"What about hand sanitizer?" She called

"Already in my pocket"

"Also what time will you be back?" She said as she was washing the dirty plates at the sink.

"Maybe... half four" I told her.

"Okay and don't be late David. Remember... wash your hands and don't forget to wear your mask" she reminded.

"I won't forget, Mom" I answered her back. I then gave her a nice smile and a wave before I left the house. I walked down the street with my hands in my pocket until I reach the bus stop.
I sat on the red bench waiting for the bus. I then heard a ding sound from my phone.

"Are you in town yet?"

It was a text message from Blake.

*****Text message POV*****

"I'm just waiting for the bus" I send

"The Bus?"

"Yeah. I just don't want my Mom to bring me. I didn't want her to do more work, you know?"

"I guess so. Anyways what bus are you on?"

"The bus going to town. Bus 200"

"Ok. I'm already here in the city so I'm just going to be waiting I guess 😕"

"You can go ahead of me. I'll just meet you later"
