Chapter 5 The lunch break (D's & B's POV)

Chapter 5: Lunch
David's POV (point of view)

God it was cold.It was winter.
I was sitting down outside on the benches in the yard outside waiting for my friends.It was lunch and I saw Blake stepped outside.Blake is nice and we were not really friends but we do sometimes say 'hi' to each other since he's my classmate.Blake did very good during soccer this morning.Blake looked very lost.Looks like he was waiting for someone.
Blake was standing under the shed wearing his black hoodie on after he exited the building.
"Lucky" I said to myself because he was wearing something warm.
I then approach to Blake to asked why is he waiting there.

"Are you waiting for someone?" I said to him.
"Um yeah.I'm just waiting for Jacob" he said to me.
"Oh Blake I saw Jacob heading out already before you came.That was 5 minutes ago"I told him
"Oh"
"Are you also waiting for someone ?" Blake asked a question.
"Yeah, my friends actually you know who" I said to him back
It was a moment of silence for a while.
"I'll just head out by myself for lunch" Blake said
The black haired teen walked away.
One part of me told me to go with him because I felt kinda bad that he has no one to go with, while another part of me told me to stay or to go out by yourself for lunch.Screw it I'm going with him.I did want him to be alone out there.

I ran up to Blake.Blake didn't walk that far.
"Blake wait up" I said as I breathe heavily.
Blake looked shock when he saw me.
"I want to go with you" I heard myself say that.
"What ?, why?" he said
"Cause I want to have lunch outside and beside I don't want you to be alone by yourself" I said to him
His face lit up with a smile.I was frozen for a second.
"Well let's go then" he demanded
We both walked out the school and went out for lunch.Our lunch break was 1hr so we have a lot of time to come back to the school.
We walked down a hill to a supermarket.It took 11 minutes to get there.It annoys me that the school has to be on top of a hill.

"So what are your going to buy" I asked Blake
"Just a wrap.You?" I said
"A sandwich for me" Blake said back
We walked inside the store.The warm cool air hit against my head, messing up my hair when we got inside.Many people were inside the store and some of those people were kids from our school.Most of those kids are in the senior year.I didn't see my friends inside not even Blake's friend Jacob.
"I guess our friends are not here" he said
"They probably be at the other store" I told him.
There are four stores and a few restaurants located near our school.Me and Blake were at one of the big stores.
"Just get what you're going to buy" I heard Blake say

Blake left and searched around the store to buy his own food.
I looked around the food aisle and found a chicken wrap in the fridge.I took it out from the fridge and held it in my hands.After that, I walked around the aisle looking at random stuff.
"Boo!" I heard from behind which made me scared to death.
I turned around to see Blake behind me.
"Jeez you scared me" I told him
"Sorry David" he said.
I was that type of person who gets scared easily.
"Anyways are you ready to buy your food" he said
"Yeah"
"Ok.Well let's go then" he said happily
Blake felt very happy when I was near him.Probably because I didn't let him be alone.

We both walked over to the checkout.
"Next please!" the lady in the table called.
We both walk over pay our food.Blake paid first, then it was me.
I gave the money to the lady.
"Um sorry the wrap is €3.50" I heard the lady
"What!"
I just realise that I had given €3 to her but I didn't know there was 50 cents left.I had forgotten to check the price tag.This was kinda embarrassing.
"Something wrong David" Blake said to me.
"Um I don't have fifty cents" I said to him awkwardly
"That's okay.I'll deal with it" Blake told me.
"No it's fine really.I can just change the food"
"No David.It's okay, I have 50 cents" Blake said
"Are you sure?" I said
"It's fine"
Blake paid my food.Blake was really nice and sweet.We both left the checkout and went back outside to head back to school.The cold came back to me.

Blake's POV (point of view)
"I'll pay back the 50 cents Blake" David told me.
"No need.Just enjoy your lunch"
"If you say so" I heard him
We both walked up the hill slowly.I saw David shaking.I knew he was cold.To be fair it was very cold today since it's December.I wanted to do something about it.
"David wear this"
I took of my black hoodie and gave it to him.
"What?" He said
"I see your very cold.Just wear it.It will keep you warm" I told him
"What about you?"
"I wore it too long already and I'll be okay" I said
David put on the hoodie.It was really cold but I can handle it.

As we walked up, we ate our food.After finishing our food, we then talked about ourselves, our family and others stuff.
"Her name is Katie" he said
"That's your sisters name?"
"Yep.What about you? Do you have a brother or a sister?" He questioned
"Yeah.Actually one brother and no sisters.His name is Kai" I answered his question.
"He is the youngest in my family" I told him
"Well Kai is lucky to have a nice brother" David said.
"Well thanks" I laughed
It was a moment of silence.We arrived near the school's gate.
"Wait David" I called him
"Yeah Blake"
"Why did you went with me? We are not friends?" I told him.
"Umm well.First your my classmate and second I didn't want you to be alone and third maybe I just want to get to know you properly " he told.
"Well thanks David for being with me"I said to him with a smile on my face.

"Not problem" David said.
"So are we friends now ?" I said to him
"Sure.I mean why not" David spoke
I wished we are more than just friends.
"Oh before we go inside..." David said.
He took of my hoodie he was wearing and gave it back to me.
"Here Blake.Thank you so much for lunch and the hoodie.It really means a lot" David told me.
"No worries David" I said to him
He looks so cute.I think I also saw him blush.I just want to kiss his beautiful cute face.

We went back in the school.David went on his own way while I went back to find Jacob.Jacob was sitting on the benches.
"Jacob where were you?" I asked him
"I went with Max.Where did you go?" He said to me
"I went with... well by myself" I lied.I didn't know why I lied to Jacob.
"Okay" he said.
Me and Jacob talked and talked until the bell rang for the next class.
The day had ended again like any other day.I went home with a smile on my face.
