I've heard the story of,
Cain and Abel,
How he killed his younger brother,
He was banished from working the land,
He work the mark with blood stained hands,
That's how the story ends.
I've heard the story of,
Joshua and the collard coat,
The way his brothers got jealous,
They sold him and pretended he was dead,
How he went from a slave,
To their saving grace,
That's how the story ends.
I've heard the story of,
Moses and the promise land,
How God chose him from all the rest,
How he parted the red sea,
And saved all his people,
That's how the story ends.
I grew hearing these things,
But still I didn't believe,
There was something I just could not see,
I needed God to show me,
So my story could begin.
