chapter 5: the snow

There our two boys sat, freazing in the cold.

Mondo just had his pants on with no cloak...but he also had fur so that helped a lot with staying warm.
While Taka on the other hand only had on a shirt and pants, and was already starting to freeze badly.

"Y-ya sure ya aint g-g-gonna give up?" Mondo asked, the cold starting to get to him as well.

"O-of course n-n-not! If I wanna see my family regain there status I have to be there for it!" He repiled with a sigh

"W-what do ya mean?" Mondo asked, his tone going from comettivte to curious.

"...when I was younger....I was...well I still technically am, a prince."

Mondos eyes went wide with supprise. Who knew this sassy, loud mouthed, annoying, handsome boy was a freaking prince?

"What happened?" He asked, still confused about the hole thing.

"Well...my grandpa, he was the king....he hurt many people. He was caught up in a scandal that made living costs for people almost impossible. Well he was overthrown by a dictator of a queen. The people didn't know her intentions at the time and just allowed her to take over, not even questioning it. She started by killing him, and now runs the hole kingdom like an army. If my father were king...he would be able to help everyone my grandpa hurt, and all the people this new dictator is hurting as well."

Mondo couldnt hardly belive the story. Who knew all of this could have happened and he had no idea at all about it. Shows what being locked up in a winter prison sence you were 12 can do to a person.

"Hey man...im sorry to hear that." Taka simply nodded sadly before asking "So, whats your story?"

Mondo didnt even think before he started to share "Well, my brother use to be the king of this dang place...but he kicked it when I was like, 12."
"What happened to him?"

Mondo was quiet as he questioned himself. 'Am i really going to tell him...is he really gonna be the first to know?'

Eventully Mondo shared what happened, and for the first time, the hole truth was reveled about the situation

"My bother was comin back from a trip to a kingdom we had a trade deal with. I knew when he was coming back and I desided to prank him. I got a mirror and was planning on shinning light into the horses eye to just spook him and consern my bro that somthin was actully wrong. Well...instead of just scaring the horse a little, it spooked him so bad he went running...freaking wimp. Long story short the carrage crashed and while helping the others out it was to late. The carrage fell with my brother inside. It's my fault hes no longer here, its my fault that I screwed over all my servants and its my fault I screwed over the hole dang kingdom!" Mondo started to cry, making Taka cry some as well as he wrapped a shakey arm around Mondo

"Its ok, you didnt know what would happen. Its not your fault." Taka reasured.
After a minute of crying Mondo finally repiled "Thanks bro"
Taka smiled at the word 'bro'. For some reason it made him happy.

"Ya wanna head inside now, your hands are freaking freezing." "No!" Taka stood up as he shouted his objesction

"I'm hardly cold..at...all...." those were the boys last words before passing out, landing face first in the snow.

When he woke up again he was surrounded Mondo, Yasuhito, Taichi, Chihiro, Byakuya and a unfimllier bandage box.

"Oh thank goodness hes waking up!" Taichi sighed, soon being intruppted by Mondo "Get him somthing to drink! Mikan, check him out make sure hes doin' ok!"

Mondo cleared everyone else out of the room leaving only himself, taka, and who have gave orders to.

The box did as instructed and started asking Taka some qustions and taking notes, seeing if everything was normal.
As soon as Mondo sat back down Taka finally asked him "What is your name? You've never told me." Mondo turned and answered "Oh. Mondo, Mondo Oowada."

"Thank you Oowada-" "Mondo. Just Mondo."

Taka nodded with a soft smile, leaning back and shutting his eyes, falling asleep before he even got his tea Taichi was making him
