"You find the Cyborg?" Bruce asks Diana. "We spoke," Diana says. "Give him time." "You must be Barry. I'm Diana." Diana says. "Hi Barry, I'm Diana... That's not right. Great. So this is us?" Barry asks. "Yeah. This is us." Bruce says. "Oh! Awesome! That's the Bat signal. That's you...Oh. Sorry. That's your signal. That means we have to go now." "Yeah. That's what that means." "That's so cool." "Bruce, did you have any luck with Val-El?" Bruce gives Diana a strange look. "Valery, Bruce." Bruce shakes his head. "She told Alfred to 'Tell Bruce to go to hell.'" Diana sighs. The three respond to the Bat-Signal, arriving on the rooftop. "How many of you are there?" Gordon asks. " Not enough," Bruce says. "Eight people abducted from or near STAR Labs. Here's the potential perp." Gordon says. " Parademons," Diana says. "Okay...The demons must have caught the scent of a Mother Box. They carried people away to find out what they know." Bruce says. "So the eight might still be alive," Diana says. "Nine. The head of STAR Labs was taken as well. " Gordon tells them. "You made it," Diana tells Victor. "So then. There must be a nest nearby." Bruce says. " I plotted all the sightings in Metropolis, Gotham...No pattern I can see. The lines on the map don't converge." "On land. These lead back to Braxton Island, between the two cities." "Gotham Harbor. These are air vents...they all lead down to the tunnel from Metropolis...project that was abandoned in '29." Bruce says. "Do you really think that..." "Wow. They just...They really just vanished. That's rude." Barry says.
"Where are we, Alfred?" Bruce asks. "Braxton Island. You should be...directly under the venting tower for the tunnel. Now, look to your left, you should see a staircase. It will give you access to the machine room." Alfred says. "Define access," Cyborg says. "One at a time. The bridge may not...hold." Batman says. "Just tell me the truth," Steppenwolf says. "Please, just let us go. I have a family!" A woman yells. "Wrong answer. Humans...The stench of your fear is making my soldiers hungry. Shall I feed them? You've been near the Mother Box. - The scent is on you..." "Please. We have families." "Why does everyone keep telling me that?" Steppenwolf says. "Right. Okay, yeah, here's the thing, um...See, I'm afraid of bugs, and, um, guns. And obnoxiously tall people, and murder, and I can't be here."A Parademon screeches from close by. "It's really cool you guys seem ready to do battle and stuff, but...Full transparency, I've never done battle. I've just pushed some people and run away." "Save one," Bruce says. "One?" Barry asks. "Save one person," Bruce tells Barry. "Uh...Wait, which one?" Barry asks Bruce again. "Don't talk. Don't fight. Get in. Get one out." Bruce tells Barry. "And-And then?" Barry asks. "You'll know," Bruce tells Barry. "Okay," Barry says.
"Useless! You then. Where is my Mother Box?" Steppenwolf picks up Silas Stone, Cyborg's father. "I'll die before I tell you!" Silas says. "At last, one that doesn't whine. But you will scream." Steppenwolf says. "Dad!" Victor yells. "Victor!" Silas yells back. "You were born of her. A creature of chaos!" Steppenwolf tells Victor. "Not how I see it," Victor says. "Give it time," Steppenwolf says. "Ahhh!!!" Diana yells. "Amazon!" Steppenwolf says. Batman grunts. "Okay. Save one." "This one is mine. You overestimate yourself. Child...My ax is still slick with the blood of your sisters." Steppenwolf tells Diana. Diana grunts. Parademon's grunt and snarl. "Alfred, I need the Knightcrawler," Bruce says. "I thought you'd never ask. Crawler's on the way. Initiating remote mode." Alfred says. "You good?" "At the end of the hall, there should be stairs," Alfred says. "Okay." "Go! He's after the change engine. His Mother Box." "You have to keep him from it." "Help people get to safety." "Promise me." "Go!" "Finish her!" Steppenwolf yells. "Sorry guys, I didn't bring a sword," Bruce says. "Jesus. He is tall." "So...You have the blood of the Old Gods in you. The Old Gods died." Steppenwolf says to Diana. "No!" Barry yells. "Heads up! Thanks, Alfred. But I'll take it from here." Victor says. "Uh, do I know you?" Alfred asks. "Primitive beings." "What are we under right now?" "Gotham Harbor. You all need to move." The water from the Harbor floods the room. "You get him out..." Diana says. "Diana, there's no time." "Also among my fears is drowning," Barry says. "You are a distraction. Mother is calling." "Diana, come on!" Barry yells to Diana. Arthur flies through the water and plunges his trident into the ground holding the water off as long as he can. "Come on." "Whoa." The Knightcrawler powers down and Barry sighs in relief. "The Change Engine." Cyborg says, flying from the Nightcrawler. "Did he just bail?" Barry asks.
"Millions in structural damage. You haven't lost your touch. But it's good to see you playing well with others." Arthur climbs the rocks, he takes one look at Bruce and laughs, "Dressed like a bat? I dig it." "Maybe temporary. So, uh, what made you change your mind?" Bruce asks Arthur. "Steppenwolf. He took the Mother Box from Atlantis." "All he needs now is the last box of man." "If he doesn't already have it," Arthur says. Cryborg lands beside the team, with the last Mother Box causing them to all look in his direction. "He doesn't have it."
